Big budget exploitation at it’s finest; that’s what we are going to shoot the shit about today cats n’ creeps as we slap our eyeballs on Brian De Palma’s crime classic Scarface! Cuban immigrant (and former soldier) Tony Montana (Al Pacino) comes to the ol’ U.S.A. with a dream; to be rich and powerful… and he doesn’t care how that happens. After a a low-level political hit here, and some dish washing there (gotta keep the lights on after all), Montana and his right hand man Manny (Steven Bauer) manage to survive an outrageously botched drug deal (there’s a fuckin’ chainsaw involved) and deliver the yayo to kingpin Frank Lopez (Robert Loggia). This sends Tony up the ladder to ill-gotten fame and fortune, and before long he’s kicked Frank to the curb (just how I will let you find out for yourselves), stolen his coke-lovin’ wife Elvira (Michelle Pfeiffer). Netflix continues to turn out horror films that impress. One of the latest is director Ciarán Foy’s Eli, a tale about a young boy suffering from an extreme autoimmune disorder that makes him allergic to the world, but not all is what it seems. As his parents take him for a treatment meant to cure him, all hell breaks loose as ghosts begin to haunt him. This film is cleaver and will have you guessing the entire time as you sit on the edge of your seat. Just when you think you know what’s going on, a giant twist throws everything out the window. With a unique story, which is rare these days, Eli is entertaining and spooky as hell. I’ll be honest, one reason I found Eli so interesting is that I identify with Eli because the young boy, played by Charlie Shotwell, is plagued by an autoimmune disorder. Ahh the Hellraiser series; so iconic and flat out awesome (well at first anyway) it is that it needs no introduction, as I’m sure each and everyone of you creeps has parked your pasty asses in front of it at one time or another. But, just in case there is someone reading this that has no idea what I’m talking about; here’s the elevator pitch; there’s a puzzle box… kinda like a Rubik’s Cube that when solved unleashes emissaries from hell (that are waaay into S&M) who arrive to collect the soul of anyone stupid enough to play their game. So there’s that. Anyway; Hellraiser, I love it, you love it, Arrow has gone mega-ape shit and unleashed insane-o releases of the first two films in the series…and yeah; review time! Scientists create an artificial black hole and the result are massive blackouts, missing persons, and some of those good ol’ fashioned cosmic anomalies that the youth of today dig on. Thus begins Portals; a new arcane anthology brought to us by Eduardo Sanchez (The Blair Witch Project), Gregg Hale (V/H/S 2), Timo Tjahjanto (The Night Comes For Us), and Liam O’Donnell (Beyond Skyline). In our wicked wrap-around, directed by O’Donnell, a family is sucked within a portal while traversing a desert road… more on that in a bit… As the nightmare continues, black obelisks begin appearing, and folks start disappearing into them… reports of which begin overloading a 911 call center… and before you can say “So get up get, get get down” one of those eerie edifices appears in the center, and the office nutcase decides to communicate with it (always a shit-hot idea)… and he’s going to get his co-workers to step inside it’s midnight embrace come hell

I’m not even going to fuck around; An American Werewolf in London is one of the finest horror pictures ever made. Doubtless, no one reading these wicked words would need any convincing to agree… but for the one person out there that may be unfamiliar with this fright flick, I’m gonna kick of this revoltin’ review of Arrow Video’s new Blu-ray release of this beast of a film with a sinister synopsis (I mean I always do that but what-fucking-ever). Two American friends, let’s call them David and Jack… because that’s what their character’s names are… anyway these two dudes (played by David Naughton and Griffin Dunn respectively) are on one of those European backpacking trips that the kids of today are just so gosh darn fucking fond of. A couple of dumb-ass hicks decide to immolate and rape a bound woman that goes by the handle of Sylvia (Jackie Kelly)… which results in her going blood simple and murdering the yokels right quick before losing consciousness. Enter: Paw (Victor Hollingsworth) who finds Sylvia and brings her to his farm. Being such an upstanding she helps with the chores in return for the favor as well as helping Paw’s son Caleb (William Ryan Watson) get his rocks off… hell she even tries puttin’ the moves on Paw! , The Dooms Chapel Horror). Since she has no place else to go Paw offers her a place at the farm. She’s soon helping with the chores and joining Caleb in the hayloft. And seducing Paw just for good measure. Book Review By LeonaLee Found within the first pages of The Night Weaver is a tale that, in truth, has been told many times and in many ways. Many of the classic troupes can easily be found. The hastily given backstory of the kidnapped children felt rushed and introduced a tad to quickly. Preferably, I would have liked to have had the town touched on more and the main character Rachel flushed out a bit before that was given to me so quickly. I would have felt more invested if I had a better feel of the town before being told of its sorrows. But that aside, I’d say, dear readers, keep reading. If one can make it through the first 25 or so pages you will find the true beginnings of a good read. Once one makes it through those first few chapters the world of The Night Weaver begins to take shape and pull you in. Normally this

The season finally AMC’s horror anthology series, “The Terror” ended on a high note with its second season titled “Infamy” that took place during the events of the Second World War when American citizens of Japanese descent were forced into internment camps as the American government feared that they would aid the Empire of Japan from within. After watching all the episodes here’s my spoiler-free look at The Terror: Infamy. First off, unlike the first season, this season’s story is original and right from the get-go, it pulls you in with the creepiness! As much as I loved the first season, it’s kind of boring in comparison with this one as there’s a lot of buildup with brief moments of horror followed up by more exposition. In this season, the story is being told as the action unfolds. I should also note that there are moments where the characters speak Japanese and there are subtitles, thankfully these moments are timed

Living in the South, I’ve seen a gator or two and am fully aware of exactly how dangerous they are. I also love creature features so when I saw the trailer for the gator infested action/disaster flick Crawl, I knew I had to see it. Now I have. First let me say, I’m a fan of director Alexandre Aja’s work. He’s a fantastic director. Horns, Mirrors, The Hills Have Eyes, High Tension, all are great films. Needless to say, I had high expectations for Crawl before I even pressed play. The movie begins with college student Haley (Kaya Scodelario) at swim practice when she receives a call from her sister who is concerned about their father (Barry Pepper) not answering his phone as a Catagory 5 hurricane nears landfall in Florida.
