I have a lil’ something different for you cats n’ creeps today; a look at two Blu-rays put out by Mill Creek Entertainment featuring some pure exploitation gold! Guns (1990): Juan Degas, the infamous Jack of Diamonds (C.H.I.P.S.’ Erik Estrada in a rare villainous role) is back in action, and he has a plan to run guns down Molokai way. Thankfully L.E.T.H.A.L. Agents Donna (Dona Speir, reprising her role from other flicks in the Malibu Bay series) and Nicole (Roberta Vasquez), are on the case and ready to get naked and fire missiles at shit nearly non-stop, so good luck to ya Juan. I know the two burning questions plaguing your fevered brain: Is there a federal agent in this that’s also a magician/assassin (played by legendary television performer Chuck McCann who steals the entire picture in my opinion), and does Danny Trejo (Machete) play a Chinese dude? You know the drill, sign on to Netflix and spend hours looking for a good horror movie to watch. But here’s a surprise, the scariest thing on Netflix isn’t a horror movie. It’s a French (English dubbed) series titled “Marianne,” and it was released on Friday the 13th. I know what you’re thinking, ‘How scary can a show called ‘Marianne’ be?’ As a hardcore horror fan who’s next to impossible to scare, I can honestly say “Marianne” is downright chilling. But that’s not all; at its heart, the series is about a messed-up woman returning to the place and family that she pushed away years ago. It’s about people growing, becoming a better version of themselves, and conquering their demons. After losing his parents in a car explosion (represented by text that an effect should be present, but isn’t), a priest named Doug (Gregory James Cohan) travels to China (via car), where he gets poked by a talon held by a dying woman. Once home, out hero begins turning into a dinosaur, and avenges his parent’s death… and because there is literally fifty minutes left to go after that, he teams up with a hooker named Carol (Alyssa Kempinski) and fights a ninja crime syndicate. Based on true events. Look, I’m not gonna beat around the bush, or any other part of the female anatomy… I absolutely loved the ever-lovin’ fuck out of VelociPastor. Writer/Director Brendan Steere has delivered an intentionally campy, over-the-top love letter to grindhouse cinema with all of the gore and insanity you’d expect, and then some… but what may catch you cats n’ creeps by sinister surprise is that Steere delivers some gorgeous shots among the

From the brilliant writers behind 2018’s hit A Quiet Place comes Haunt, produced by horror icon Eli Roth. The film follows a group of friends to an extreme haunt, where they find themselves in a fight for their lives when the employees begin to kill the group off one by one. Let’s be honest, we’ve seen haunted attractions gone bad many times in the past. While Haunt turns up the heat, it still relies on an overused concept. At least directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods attempted to put some spin on it, sadly they didn’t put enough heart into it. Haunt‘s death scenes are brutal, but what else would you expect when Eli Roth is attached? They’re bloody, gory, and messy. The killers’ masks stand out and are a fresh take on the Halloween classic characters of the witch, ghost, devil, and clown. The masks did look good though. Don’t be surprised if a line of merchandise is released

A group of bullying jackanapes decide to spend All Hallows Eve buggin’ the shit out of townie odd-ball Jacob (Nate Chaney)… who just so happens to have found a temp gig as a carney at Dr. Death’s Side Show Spook House Spectacular. Soon the torment goes to far, Jacob takes a dirt nap, and is resurrected (due in no small part to his freaky new friends) with his mind set on lappin’ up some sweet, sweet revenge against those what done him wrong. Writer/Director Josh Hasty (creator of the mega-cool pic Honeyspider, which yours cruelly slapped a revoltin’ review on ages ago right here) seems to have only one goal in mind with Candy Corn, and that is distilling the essence of the haunted Halloween holiday and committing it to sinful celluloid for all to see! One angry sumbitch with dashed aspirations of portraying Santa at the local mall goes ahead and kidnaps the manager of said establishment, her family, and her lover; and lets them know he’s a smidge miffed he lost the coveted Yuletide gig. Created for the Vancouver 48 Hour Run N Gun Horror Film Festival (which means the entire sinister shebang was written, shot, edited, and scored in 48 hours… which seems crazy as all fuck to undertake but kudos to the lunatics that ran those particular asylums) by writer/director/actor Bruce Blain (who portrays the eponymous lead character), Mad Santa is a vicious lil’ slice of fearsome fruitcake served up with a splash of shocking violence… and goddamn is it ever a satisfying short subject! In a mere seven minutes we get a powerhouse performance from Blain, cringe-worthy brutality, tension thicker than the heels of Karloff’s Frankenstein boots, and even an unexpected dash of playfulness… which adds up to a joltin’ jaunt

Join Sam, Dean, Castiel, and Jack for more hunts, action, and twists with Supernatural’s Complete Fourteenth Season on Blu-ray and DVD today! It’s hard to believe that we’ve spent fourteen seasons watching Sam, Dean, Cass, and the Winchester family fight tooth an nail to save the world and each other time and time again. The season opens with Sam on the hunt for Dean and Michael, but with no real idea how to save Dean, which is a reoccurring theme throughout the season. Things are pure chaos. Between Jack losing his grace, Dean being used as Michael’s vessel and Sam’s new role as leader of a pack of hunters. Things usually end in bloodshed on the show, but the Winchesters learn a hard lesson in season 14, that they can’t save everyone, including those they hold most dear. As Clownado opens, we learn of the dangers of circus-related theft (a true plague to the youth of the nation these days)…which could best be described as kooky clowns showing us that tits n’ darts don’t mix (a lesson I learned all too well at my last soiree at the Crypt o’ XIII)…if they don’t just murderize your ass outright. Savanna (Rachel Lagen), the victim of their big top titty terror, seeks revenge against those clowns, lead by her brute of a husband Big Ronnie (John O’Hara), via magic courtesy of one Autumn Moonspell (porn legend Jeanne Silver). The spell helps her escape the grease-painted ghouls, but it has the unintended side-effect of giving the clowns tornado based supernatural abilities…as is often the way. Soon a group of disparate strangers who’s ranks include; a no-nonsense shit-kicker (Bobby Westrick), an Elvis impersonator (Antwoine Steele), a stripper (Dilynn Fawn Harvey), and a teen runaway (Sierra Stodden) will be tasked with ending the

A gaggle of goofs exit stage left from a stale Halloween party and decide to try to conjure ghosts via reading passages from an ancient tome at ye olde abandoned doll factory (home to a battle with a host of rather surly killer baby dolls years previous). As you can guess that shit works gangbusters and soon our young heroes are getting ripped new assholes by the pint-sized, petulant puppets (okay they are dolls as previously stated, but fuck it)… and before long the entire town may fall into the creepy clutches of evil! After a strong cold open, Doll Factory almost lost me with an overlong party sequence that was on the boring as balls side; but man did it gain my attention back right quick!
