“No One Saw A Thing”: The Town Of Skidmore Missouri And Ken Rex

If you have not heard of the town of Skidmore Missouri you are not alone. If you have heard of this tiny little dot on a map, it is probably because of the events disclosed in the documentary “No One Saw A Thing” (2019). I watched the Sundance Documentary this past weekend and while this is not going to be a review of the six-part documentary, I do recommend it. Instead of a review, I wanted instead to give details of the documentary because it is a town rife with tragedy, violence, and a Freddy Krueger-like curse. Each event on its own would be worth an article (or documentary), but for all of these things to have happened in a town of between 200-300 people is absolutely astounding. Skidmore is the site of one of the most public and notorious events of vigilante justice outside of Marvel movies. On July 10, 1981, Kenneth, Rex McElroy was murdered in broad daylight

At Least 215 Victims: The Story of Dr. Harold Shipman

A successful doctor, vice-captain of his college athletics team, and devoted family man. Harold Frederick Shipman seemed to have it made. He had life figured out…on the surface. Shipman was born in Nottingham, England on 12 May, 1914. His devout Methodist parents were working-class citizens who raised their three children to be hard working, pillar members of their community. Tragedy struck when Shipman’s mother died of lung cancer when he was 17 years old. Shipman was very close with his mother and was often there to watch her doctors administer morphine to help ease her pain as she passed away. This medical treatment must have had an effect on the young man as it became his preferred method of murder years later. However, for now, Shipman’s life continued on track. On 5 November, 1966 he married Primrose May Oxtoby and they had four children together. Four years later he graduated from the Leeds School of Medicine, opened his own practice

True Crime Docuseries “No One Saw A Thing” Debuts On Sundance

In 1981, after years of intimidation and brutality, the town bully Ken Rex McElroy is gun downed in broad daylight in front of 60 witnesses in the small town of Skidmore, Missouri, but no one saw a thing or at least that’s what they claim to this very day. Blumhouse’s docuseries “No One Saw A Thing” delves into the case that garnered international attention and remains one of the most interesting true-crime mysteries today. Award-winning Israeli filmmaker Avi Belkin (Mike Wallace Is Here, Sundance 2019 Premiere) directs and serves as executive producer of the six-episode series, which is also executive produced by Jason Blum, Jeremy Gold, and Marci Wiseman and co-executive produced by Mary Lisio as part of Blumhouse Television. Delirio’s Rafael Marmor and Christopher Leggett (Hunting ISIS, Honey Boy, Mike Wallace Is Here) also serve as executive producers. Debunking “100 Years Pandemic” Meme

Now that social distancing, lockdowns, and shelter in place events are going on around the globe, many people have time on their hands… so much so that they’re now posting clips from bogus articles that first appeared in January of this year and shared on many not so relevant/scholarly/trustworthy news sites, today Horror fuel is challenging these claims! According to the article and the meme that was birthed from it, every 100 years there’s a major pandemic and that we should be worried. The article and meme mention the 1720 Plague, the 1820 Cholera Outbreak, the 1920 Spanish Flu, and tops it off with the misnamed 2020 “Chinese” Flu. Let’s start off with the first claim, the 1720 Plague which is convenient that it appears that’s when recorded human history must have begun according to the ones who began these claims as no other years are mentioned before this one. Historically there was indeed a plague in 1720, it was

Facing East Documentory Director Talks Corruption And Buried Bodies In An Interview

Tommy Baker, the filmmaker behind the documentary Facing East, sat down with me to discuss his film and the heartbreaking and infuriating events that have taken place over decades at the Eastern Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky. Referred to as “the most overcrowded’ in all of Kentucky, the Eastern Cemetery held a horrifying secret for many years, that the owners of the cemetery were selling plots, but in reality were using the same ones over and over, each time piling body on top of body. Over 100,000 people were buried this way. Thanks to the nonprofit group Friends of Eastern Cemetery that came together to clean up the grounds, bodies were discovered and many made aware of the horrors that happened. Now, Baker wants to share the story in hopes of making the events truly known to the world. Horror Fuel: “How did you come across the story?” Tommy Baker: “Back in 2013 a buddy of mine ran into a guy

E3 Is Canceled

If you’re following the recent events going on around the world and you’re a gamer, you probably already wondering if the Electronic Entertainment Expo (aka E3) the largest gaming event of the year will be affected. It has been confirmed by E3 that yes, the 2020 event that was being held in L.A. is indeed CANCELED due to fears of Coronavirus that’s been hitting the West Coast hard over the last few weeks. Some in the know are asking if this is REALLY the reason it’s canceled. Over the last few months E3 2020 was plagued (no pun intended…seriously!) by behind the scenes drama that was threatening the event this year anyway Coronavirus or not. One of the biggest things going on behind the scenes is gaming console company Sony PlayStation not attending the event for the second year in a row opting to have their latest news showcased at other gaming events and broadcast online. Another big player is

Corona Beer Fears Update: WE GOT DUPED!

One of my past articles that seemed to have received a lot of love (Thanks guys!) has now made me look like a fool as it did with many other news outlets that reported it. As it turns out my article about 38% of Americans won’t be drinking Corona Beer due to the fear of Coronavirus, was an elaborate hoax…and I fell for it. Normally I would be kicking myself in the head for falling for something like this but I’m thankful to know the fact that other major news outlets and respectable journalists have fallen for it as well. So it’s my responsibility to give the facts and to correct my mistake. So what happened? In February the news spread far a wide like the Coronavirus itself after what appeared to be a coordinated effort by 5W Public Relations, and PR Newswire who withheld information pertaining to the questions asked on the survey and how they were asked, when

Just Like The Coronavirus, Panic And Misinformation Is Spreading

Cases of Corona Virus (AKA SARS-CoV-2, and COVID-19) are on the rise in the United States and the result are as suspected; people are starting to panic while ignoring the experts. The rate of panic has now increased since my last article about people being afraid of contracting the disease from all things Corona Beer. New fears arose due in part of deliberate misinformation spreading by “Troll Farms” on social media that are making people afraid of people of East Asian Decent as seen on multiple viral (no pun intended) videos on social media showing people freaking out at fellow public transit passengers that are Asian. Some people are beginning to ask if it’s a good idea to gargle with bleach, here’s my answer with the help of Archer: New fears that are absurd being seen out there right now are that people are convinced that you could catch the Coronavirus by eating Chinese food, receiving mail/packages from China or

People Are Literally Afraid Of Corona Beer

Beer… one of the cornerstones of human civilization, created to help make possibly contaminated water drinkable before turning into a well-enjoyed party starter throughout history. Unfortunately, there’s another cornerstone of human civilization that found its way throughout history as well… ignorance. How do the two collide? Well, in my last article I talked about Coronavirus should offer a hint if you already haven’t guessed… according to a survey conducted by 5W Public Relations, 38% of American beer drinkers won’t buy Corona Beer because of the Coronavirus. YouGov’s recent survey has uncovered sales in Corona beer dropping since the virus’s story hit worldwide news outlets in November. As the title suggests and I’ll mention again here, there are people out there afraid of a beer because of its name! Corona is the Spanish word for crown and derives from the Latin word Corona that’s borrowed from the Ancient Greek word korṓnē that means garland or crown (among other things), and the
