Netflix and Warner Brothers were hit with a $150 million dollar lawsuit over the appearance of the satanic deity Baphomet in their new series “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and the ones filing the lawsuit (might surprise you) are The Satanic Temple, not to be confused with The Church of Satan. The Satanic Temple is a progressive and more politically involved movement that was formed in 2012. The reason for the upset is the focus of the show takes place around a school called The Academy of Unseen Arts in which a statue of Baphomet is seen. The Satanic Temple claims the show not only infringed on the copyright of the image of the goat-headed deity but also defamed it and misled audiences to its origin. This December Netflix will unveil it’s newest horror film, Bird Box, a supernatural post-apocalyptic film being described as “Stephen King meets A Quiet Place“. Sandra Bullock stars as Malorie, a mother of two determined to protect her family at any cost. “American Horror Story” actress Sarah Paulson plays the role of Malorie’s sister Shannon. In the film, most of the world’s population is being killed by an entity that presents itself as your worst fear just before killing you. John Malkovich, Rosa Salazar, Trevante Rhodes, and Machine Gun Kelly co-star. The soundtrack includes tracks by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails. Bird Box premieres on Netflix on December 21st.

Netflix’s series adaptation of Shirley Jackson’s 1959 novel “The Haunting of Hill House” has just premiered, and we’re going to share our review with you. Thinking they will make a quick profit, the Crain family moves into a grand house to make repairs and flip for a profit, but nothing is as easy as it sounds. Between the aging home’s repairs and the sudden troubles that quickly begin, their lives will forever be changed. The family is left to confront the haunting events of the home’s past along with the ghosts that still walk its halls as we jump between the past and the present, slowly revealing what terrifying events have set the family down their paths. Fans of the ultimate bloodsucker will be excited to learn that the BBC and Netflix are making an unholy alliance to raise “Dracula” from the grave. Here’s the kicker, the new series adaptation of Bram Stoker’s classic tale is from the team behind “Sherlock”, Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat. Set in 1897, the series will center on the blood-drinking count from Transylvania who sets his sights on Victorian London. There have always been stories about great evil. What’s special about Dracula is that Bram Stoker gave evil its own hero.” Moffat and Gatiss stated. Vertue added “There’s nothing like fresh blood.” Sue Vertue’s Hartswood Films producing the project, according to Variety.

Netflix’s new spooktacular six-episode series “The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell” takes viewers through the steps of making creeptastic, fantastic desserts and other goodies is now streaming on Netflix. McConnell teaches you how to make goodies from pretzel bones and Ouija cookies and edible spiders and even a Halloween gingerbread house with the help of her mummy cat, werewolf, and a raccoon that she brought back to life. “Curious Creations” is the cooking and crafting series that all of us horror lovers have been begging for, think Pioneer Woman meets Morticia. From the executive producer of The Purge franchise and the “Lore” comes Netflix’s new series, “Haunted” which features frightening first-person accounts from people who have witnessed horrifying paranormal and supernatural events and encounters. The series will take us into people’s experiences with emotionally charged interviews and reenactments, but “Haunted” is otherwise completely unscripted. The accounts feature things like demonic possessions, alien abductions, haunted homes, blood-filled bathtubs, and more. The trailer gives us a look at the horror that we will witness when “Haunted” premieres on October 19, 2018.

Ahead of the premiere, I sat down with The Newton Brothers, the duo responsible for the haunting scores that bring the series’ haunting atmosphere to life. Andy Grush and Taylor Newton Stewart (aka The Newton Brothers) are very distinguished composers working on films such as Gerald’s Game, Open Water 3: Cage Dive, Ouija: Origins of Evil, Before I Wake, Hush, and Oculus. Streaming giant Netflix is turning out horror films and series left and right, and for that we are thankful. Their film Apostle is next up to spook viewers and the brand new trailer doesn’t disappoint. Directed by Gareth Evans (The Raid) and starring Beauty and the Beast actor Dan Stevens, the film is set in 1905, a drifter is on a mission to rescue his kidnapped sister and is forced to go up against a sinister religious cult on an isolated island. Kristine Forseth and Michael Sheen also star with Lucy Boynton, Bill Milner, Mark Lewis Jones, Elen Rhys, and Annes Elwy co-starring. Apostle premieres on Netflix October 12, 2018.
