Netflix Announces The Premieres Of “Maniac” & “Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina”

Sunday during the TCA summer press tour Netflix announced the premiere date for two series, “Maniac” and “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina“, Variety reports. “Maniac“, a 10-episode limited series, centers on the stories of Annie Landsberg (Emma Stone) and Own Milgrim (Jonah Hill), two strangers drawn to a mysterious pharmaceutical trial, each for their own reason. Annie’s disaffected and aimless, focused on a broken relationship with her mother and sister; Owen, the fifth son of a wealthy New York industrialist, has always struggled with a disputed case of schizophrenia. “Maniac” is set to premiere on September 21, 2018, and co-stars Justin Theroux. Patrick Somerville created “Maniac” which is directed by Cary Fukunaga. The other series is “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina“, based on the Archie Comics by the same name. Starring Kiernan Shipka in the lead role, the series reimagines “Sabina the Teenage Witch”. Netflix version will be more grounded in horror and the occult. David Farrier Talks The Macabre And His Netflix Series “Dark Tourist”

Earlier this week I was scrolling through Netflix looking for something to watch. I was hoping to find something dark and interesting. I came across a new series, “Dark Tourist” and it fit the bill. I had no idea just how interesting it would be. The series, currently on the “Trending” list, follows host David Farrier as he travels to dark tourist locations, including many dangerous ones. After binge-watching season one of the show I had to talk to David, luckily, he was willing to answer some questions. “Dark Tourist” takes David to locations like Japan’s Suicide Forest and Fukushima. We watch as he spends time with a killer, he participates in a Voodoo initiation, and he took part in burial rites that include sacrifices and we see a family dig up the dead to pay their respects and to redress them. Enter The Upside Down In Indiana’s Largest Corn Maze Inspired By “Stranger Things”

Enter the upside down this September at Exploration Acres, Indiana’s largest corn maze and pumpkin patch. Fans of “Stranger Things” will want to flock to Lafayette to see the incredible maze that pays homage to Netflix’s hit series. News outlet WTHR 13 states that “The area of the 20-acre maze is equivalent to about 15 football fields and the available paths total over 10 miles, making this the largest attraction Exploration Acres has attempted to date.” Described as an “immersive environment” for fans of “Stranger Things,” only from above you can truly appreciate the image that was painstakingly carved into the cornfield. This year, new technology allowed us to plant the maze design like an inkjet printer, dropping seeds into the precise design we imagined,” Tim Fitzgerald president of Exploration Acres stated. Exploration Acres is open for the Halloween season from September 14th to October 28th.

Netflix’s New Horror Series ‘Ghoul’ Unleashes New Intense Trailer

Streaming giant Netflix continues to build its massive original library. Their new horror series Ghoul, from India, is set to premiere on the network this August, from genre powerhouse Blumhouse, behind films like Insidious and Get Out. The series, set at a remote military facility, centers on an interrogation that takes a supernatural turn when a man turns on the interrogators, exposing their most shameful secrets. Radhika Apte, Manav Kaul, Ratnabali Bhsttscarjee, Maaina Balraj, and Matthew Goenka star. Ghoul, written and directed by Patrick Graham, is set to premiere on Netflix on August 24, 2018.

Sigmund Freud Hunts A Serial Killer In New Netflix Series ‘Freud’

Streaming monster Netflix has now given the green light for a new series featuring a young Sigmund Freud. The Austrian series, simply titled “Freud“, follows the young doctor as he teams up with a medium and a cop to hunt down a serial killer in 19th century Vienna. The German-language eight-episode show will be directed by Marvin Kren (4 Blocks) who is co-writing the series with Stefan Brunner and Benjamin Hessler. Heinrich Ambrosch will executive produce with Moritz Polter. ZDF Enterprises is handling international sales. “Freud” is currently casting and will begin production this fall, THR reports. Sigmund Freud (1856-1939) is considered the founding father of Psychoanalysis, a method for treating those with mental illness. His theories about human behavior were groundbreaking. He was the first to consider that events from our childhood shaped our behavior as adults. His technique of talking with patients over a period of time became the standard in the way psychologists care for patients.

‘Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle’ Coming To Netflix This July

The Sequel to Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters is on its way and we won’t have to wait long to see it. Titled Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle, the sequel will arrive this July. “The sequel to Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters is an epic re-imagining of the Godzilla world in a futuristic setting that pits humans and robots against the biggest Godzilla ever seen in an interplanetary struggle for survival.” Directors Kōbun Shizuno and Hiroyuki Seshita, along with screenwriter Gen Urobuchi, will be returning for the sequel in which Mamoru Miyano reprises his role as Sakaki. Takahiro Sakurai, Kana Hanazawa, Tomokazu Sugita, Yuki Kaji, and Junichi Suwabe co-star. Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle premieres on Netflix on July 18, 2018.

Aliens Invade A Camp In New Movie From ‘The Babysitter’ Director

Last year, director McG‘s horror-comedy The Babysitter arrived on Netflix and it was a bloody good time. Now, his new film, Rim of the World, be released by the streaming giant. In the film, “Four misfit teenagers who become unlikely allies when their summer camp experience is cut short by an alien invasion. In this epic adventure film, the youths must overcome their fears, tackle insecurities and learn to work as a team while they attempt to save the world.” Jack Gore, Miya Cech, Benjamin Flores Jr., King Bach, Alessio Scalzotto, Lynn Collins, Annabeth Gish, and Michael Beach star, with Tony Cavalero, Rudy Mancuso, Carl McDowell, Chris Wylde, David Theune, Punam Patel, and Jason Rogel co-starring. Zack Stentz penned the script, Deadline reports. McG also produces along with Mary Viola, Susan Solomon, and Matt Smith. Filming has begun on the third season of Netflix’s hit series “Stranger Things” which will reportedly premiere next year. This week the streaming giant has begun releasing a series of “Spotlight” videos, highlighting the series cast. The first two videos to arrive features Millie Bobby Brown who stars as Eleven and Noah Schnapp who plays Will Byers. “Lucifer” Finds A New Home!

“Lucifer” fans were sad to learn that Fox had canceled the series. Many fans signed petitions and hashtagged #SaveLucifer in hopes that another network would pick up the series. Well, get ready to celebrate. Streaming giant Netflix has ordered season four of “Lucifer“! Netflix’s deal with Warner Bros. for the new season has been signed, sealed and delivered. Though there is no word yet when the 10-episode season will premiere. At this time our understanding is that the original cast will be returning, including Tom Ellis (Lucifer), Lauren German (Chloe Decker).
