Brad Peyton (San Andreas) will be in the director’s chair for the upcoming horror-scifi film adaption of Malignant Man, produced by James Wan (The Conjuring), Heat Vision reports. The film is based on a Boom! Studio comic book which Wan co-created. Wan also co-wrote the screenplay for Malignant Man along with Zak Olkewicz.

The film centers on “Alex Gates, a patient dying of a terminal disease, who is resigned to his fate…until he discovers that his malignant tumor is actually a mysterious alien parasite. Now with some incredible powers and a renewed purpose. Gates is tasked with fighting a secret army lurking behid the veils of society while also peeling back his own secrets.

Ross Riuchie and Steven Christy are producing alongside Wan for Boom! Studios. There is no word yet who will star.
