The film, titled ‘Cult of Chucky’, will begin principle photography on January 9th in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.  Brad Dourif, the long time voice of the possessed doll, will be returning once again. Dourif will be joined by his daughter Fiona, who starred in ‘Curse of Chucky’. What would a Chucky movie be without Jennifer Tilly? Thankfully, she will be reprising her role as Tiffany. Alex Vincent, from the original ‘Child’s Play’ film, will be co-starring.

The film finds Fiona Dourif’s character Nica in an asylum for the criminally insane where she has been for the past four years. She has convinced herself that she killed her entire family, not Chucky. When her psychiatrist introduce a “Good Guy” doll as a therapeutic tool a string of grisly deaths begins to reach havoc on the asylum. She soon begins to wonder if maybe she is not crazy after all. Andy (Vincent), the now-grown nemesis from the original film, rushes to help Nica. But to save her he will have to get past Tiffany, who will do anything to help her evil sweetheart in doll form.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly 30 years since Chucky first terrified moviegoers in Child’s Play,” said General Manager and Executive Vice President, Universal 1440 Entertainment, Glenn Ross. “Since then the films have generated millions in worldwide box-office revenue. Now Chucky’s back with more scores to settle in his trademark twisted style, and you can bet he won’t stop until he gets his revenge.”

Don Mancini will not be writing and directing the film, he will also be serving as executive producer. David Kirshber and Ogden Gavanski will produce. Special-effects master Tony Gardner is list as an associate producer.

So, when can we expect to see our favorite evil doll? ‘Cult of Chucky’ will be arriving on Digital HD, Blu-ray and DVD in time for Halloween. Check out the teaser trailer that has just arrived.
