We reported several months ago that there is a plan in place for remakes all of the classic Universal Monsters to be made, eventually bringing all of the characters together in one epic movie. ‘Dracula Untold’ was meant to be the first of the films. Now work has begun on the next remake in line, the 1954 classic ‘Creature of the Black Lagoon’.
The film follows a group of scientists on a fossil hunting expedition up the Amazon river. During the trip the team encounters a strange human like creature. Things become complicated when the creature falls in love with Kay Lawrence, one of the scientists.
Universal already has a star in mind to play the creature’s love interest, Scarlet Johansson, but she has not signed on for the part at this time.
