Most every horror fan is familiar with the 1987 movie ‘Predator’. The horror classic starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers and was directed by John McTiernan. In the movie a team of commandos are sent to the jungles of Central America and find themselves hunted by an extraterrestrial warrior. Since it’s release there have been 7 films, not counting the AVP movies.

Shane Black, the director of ‘Iron Man 3’,  is now working on a new sequel to ‘Predator’. I think that it’s fitting that Black is involved and is direct. After all, Black has a serious connection to the original movie, he played the role of Hawkins.

Little is known about the new film, except that Black is co-writing the script with Fred Dekker (The Monster Squad). It has been said that the movie will be a direct sequel and will bypass the AVP movies and it’s rumored that Tyrone Magnus and Emma Stone have both signed on for roles.  There is no date listed, but the movie will likely be released in 2017.
