WGN has just released the first full length trailer for the third season of their supernatural series Salem.
The third season of Salem dawns with the triumph of the witches’ plan to remake the New World by bringing the devil to earth and making Salem his capital. But the devil is a liar, and instead of a New World free from murderous Puritan hypocrisy, his own plan will bring nothing but death and slavery with the ultimate aim of leading humanity to destroy itself.” WGN America stated.
Salem stars Janet Montgomery, Shane West, Seth Gabel, Tamzin Merchant, Lucy Lawless, Ashley Madekwe, Elise Eberle, Iddo Goldberg, Joe Doyle and Oliver Bell. Rocker Marilyn Manson has signed on to guest star this season.
Manson is already familiar with Salem. He collaborated with Tyler Bates to create Cupid Carries A Gun, the series’ opening score, he also performs it.
In the new trailer we hear a voice say “History will say the Devil was born in Salem…” Followed by a series of dark and twisted fragments of scenes. We see John Alden (West) burying Mary (Montgomery), and their son, the Devil (Bell), giving a speech to his followers. At the end we hear a witch say “Raise the dead and you never know what you raise.” I feel a “Jon Snow moment” will be happening.
This season is going to be spellbinding! Salem, created and written by Brannon Braga and Adam Simon, will return the week of Halloween.
