Back last year we reported that SyFy has a new series in the works titled Van Helsing. Now, the series has announced the premiere date and has unveiled its new poster.
True Blood actress Kelly Overton plays Vanessa, the daughter of the legendary vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing. Vampires have taken over the world and Vanessa discovers she has a unique power over them and is humanity’s last hope of recovering the world that was lost.
Van Helsing has a great cast that includes Johnathan Scarfe (Hell on Wheels), Paul Johansson (Mad Men), Christopher Heyerdahl (Hell on Wheels), Tim Guinee (Homeland), and David Cubitt (Ray Donovan).
The series, from Nomadic Pictures, was penned by The Wicker Man scribe Neil LaBute, who will also be serving showrunner for the series, which began production in January.
The first season of Van Helsing, consisting of thirteen action packed episodes, will premiere on Friday, September 23rd.
