Movie Review: Prodigy (2018)
On the skids psychologist James Fonda (Richard Neil…who we recently interviewed right here) is called in to one of your garden variety top secret government facilities by an old classmate named Olivia (Jolene Andersen) to assist in examining Ellie (Savannah Liles) a whip smart telekinetic girl. Of course those that run the facility want to carve Ellie up like a Christmas goose to see what makes her so damn special. Making excellent use of a small cast and only a handful of locations (4 by my count, with interiors used to clinical and claustrophobic perfection), Prodigy is an impressive low budget sci-fi thriller. Neil and Liles deliver strong performances, their relationship grows believably, and the plight of young Ellie is an engaging one (if a bit derivative of King’s Firestarter here and there…minus the fire of course), and contains both strong emotional content, well-done visual effects to illustrate our young protagonists psychic powers, and a mounting tension as her fate looks

Movie Review: ‘Corbin Nash’ Is The Best Vampire Film We’ve Seen In Years
When I first heard about Ben Jagger’s Corbin Nash, which he wrote with Dean Jagger, I assumed that it would be a decent little action-vampire movie. I was wrong. Corbin Nash was actually fantastic. In fact, it is the best vampire movie I’ve seen in years. In the beginning, Corbin Nash (Dean Jagger), a tough no-nonsense detective, learns from two family friends (Rutger Hauer, Bruce Davison) a long-hidden truth, that his murdered parents were vampire hunters. Nash digs into the mass missing person case he and his partner Frank (Chris Pardal (interview)) are working. When Corbin and Frank think they have spotted two kidnappers (Corey Feldman, Richard Wagner) they learn that not only are the two men kidnappers, they’re vampires. During the fight, the two detectives are knocked out. While Frank is left behind, Corbin wakes up to find himself trapped among other victims and is forced to fight to survive. After a fight, he’s left for dead on the

New Terminator Gets Delayed
Tim Miller’s (Deadpool) untitled Terminator film, which serves as a direct sequel to Terminator 2, has been delayed. The reason has not been confirmed, but it may have something to do with star Arnold Schwarzenegger’s recent heart surgery, which he seems to be recovering from nicely. In fact, after waking up from surgery his first words were “I’m back!”. I think Cameron and Miller came up with a concept where they can continue on with the T-800 but make a whole new movie,” Schwarzenegger recently told Business Insider. “What they are doing now with this one is basically to just take a few very basic characters, like Linda Hamilton’s character and my character, and dismiss everything else. Just move away from all these rules of the timeline and other characters.” Blade Runner 2049 actress Mackenzie Davis recently scored a leading role in the film and will co-star alongside Linda Hamilton who will be reprising her role as Sarah Conner. DVD Review: Dawning of the Dead (2017)
Dawning of the Dead (are you fucking serious with that title guys?!!) concerns the zombie apocalypse beginning through the spread of a man-made virus. The scientist responsible for said outbreak entrusts his test results to an ex-war correspondent turned news anchor (Katya by name) who holes up in the local TV station and views the end of the world as we know it via news feeds. Also in the mix are an assassin who aims to stop the test results from getting out (for reasons). Can Katya survive the killer and escape into a new world of hungry dead (would she even want to? I mean c’mon, I’d rather take my chances with an assassin hell bent on my destruction than a whole world of flesh hungry living corpses)… The first thing you’ll notice about Dawning of the Dead is it’s incredible sense of scope; especially for a lower budget indie zombie picture. The makers of this film show zombie

Killer Robots, Drug Cartels, And Danny Trejo: Review Of ‘Cartel 2045’
Chris Le’s film Cartel 2045 takes us to the year 2045 where the drug war in Mexico has reached new heights of brutality as one of the drug cartels acquired a new weapon to strike fear in rivals and the United States, combat robots. The robots were used by the US military till an incident in Iran made them illegal. Now the company that made the robots have sold them to a Mexican drug cartel headed by Angel Malvado played by Danny Trejo (Machete, Machete Kills). Former Marine Carson Wright, played by Brad Schmidt (The Birth of a Nation, Here and Now, House of Lies) who was responsible for the incident in Iran due to a “faulty” chip that’s implanted in his head that allowed him to control combat droids, is sent to Juarez, Mexico to meet up with a special forces team sent in to rescue an engineer played by Chris Perskey (Bagboy, Hot Bot, Artifice) who’s being held
