Death House Releases New Promotional Art

Death House, one of the most highly anticipated horror films of 2016, has just released new artwork by artist Sean Wilson. Director Harrison Smith had this to say about the new poster: We hope the artwork reflects the complexity of the film, hints of steam punk and also a solid sign of the horror Death House contains behind its walls. Smith pointed out an interesting detail about the artwork to me. If you look closely at the left eye (our right) you will see an aerial photo of the Death House facility. Smith, known for his films Camp Dread, The Fields, 6 Degrees of Hell, and Zombie Killers: Elephant’s Graveyard, not only directed but also penned the script, based on the original screenplay by Gunnar Hansen who played Leatherface in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Hunter Johnson’s 2 Jennifer scares up an August release date. The film centers on a filmmaker whose hidden motives come to light for the film he is making and the blood that is very real. Bressack serves as executive producer for 2 Jennifer, written and directed by Johnson, that serves as the sequel to his 2013 indie thriller To Jennifer. The Road to Death House Pt. 3

“Please don’t let this be full of jump scares like The Conjuring movies.” “I hope this is smart and actually has a story.” “I don’t expect much from this. It’ll likely suck. Just accept it.” “Stupid title. Stupid premise. Nothing to see here, folks.” “This will suck.” “I have hopes for this.” “Based on the cast of old stars [that] they have, I don’t see this being any good.” Internet comments. Most of them from “trolls.” Trolls are people I sum up by asking a simple question: “And where is the movie you made?” Oh…that’s right. I believe there can be too much democracy. The Internet has given a voice to groups of people that should not have one. Blood Is Spilled In The First Trailer From Death House

Entertainment Factory has just released the first teaser trailer for B. Harrison Smith’s Death House. The film, hailed as the “Expendables of Horror”, was filmed in Philadelphia, P.A. and features an incredible cast. Horror icons such as Robert Englund, Dee Wallace, Kane Hodder, Danny Trejo, Bill Moseley, Doug Bradley and many, many others star in this killer film. Smith, known for his films Camp Dread, The Fields, 6 Degrees of Hell, and Zombie Killers: Elephant’s Graveyard, directed Death House, which he wrote based on the original screenplay by Gunnar Hansen, who played Leatherface in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Harrison Smith’s upcoming film Death House, referred to as “The Expendables of horror”, will wrap principle photography at Holmesburg Prison in Philadelphia next week. The film has a cast so impressive it makes you feel as if your head is going to explode. But don’t be mistaken, Death House, which is set to be the first film in a six film franchise, is not some gimmick that relies on cameos to carry the film. It has a great story. And no, there is no Freddy vs Jason scenes or anything like that. The stars play new characters from an original story created by Gunnar Hansen, the actor who played Leatherface in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and written and directed by Smith. The Indie Horror Film 2 Jennifer Picked Up By Sector 5

Sector 5 Film has snagged the right to the indie horror film 2 Jennifer from writer-director Hunter Johnson, Deadline has reported. Shot entirely from an iPhone 6, 2 Jennifer is the sequel to James Cullen Bressack’s 2013 film To Jennifer. Starring Lara Jean Mummert, Felissa Rose, Erin Marie Hogan and Jody Barton, the film centers on two fimmakers attempt to make the perfect sequel to To Jennifer, however a dark secret threatens the lives of everyone involved. Jennifer, a beautiful actress has two options: become the heroine of the film, or face a brutal death. 2 Jennifer is produced by Johnson, Bressack, Franke Merle, Jarrett Furst, Christian Ackerman, and Megan Perrin. The horror-thriller will see release later this year.

Scream Queen Adrienne Barbeau’s Love Bites Getting Adaption

Director Harrison Smith, who regularly publishes articles on our site, heads the independent film department of Carolco Pictures along with actress Felissa Rose (Sleepaway camp). During the ‘Sleepaway Camp’ panel at the Rock and Shock convention in Massachusetts Rose revealed that she and Smith are working on a movie adaption of the 2010 novel ‘Love Bites’ by Scream Queen Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog,Tales of Halloween). Broke Horror Fan claimed an exclusive saying Rose mentioned that ‘Resident Evil’ actress Milla Javovich is in talks to possibly be the star of the adaption, but Smith would not confirm that when I asked about the statement. Harrison had this to say: “The article on Milla was preemptive and assuming. We have a great director attached and will be announcing. Jame Cullen Bressack, director of such movies as ‘Pernicious’ and ‘Virus of the Dead’, is back with a new film titled ‘Bethany’. ‘Bethany’ follows Claire (Stefanie Estes) as she moves back into her childhood home with her husband. Soon after she moves in the traumatic memories of her childhood abuse, at the hands of her mother, flood back. ‘Sleepaway Camp’ Is Getting A Reboot

Over the past few years we have seen a horde of reboots, remakes and sequels. Now it seems the 1983 slasher film ‘Sleepaway Camp’ has been added to that list. The cult classic is being given an over haul by Jeff Katz. Katz will co-produce the movie along side the movie’s original writer/director Robert Hilzik, Michele Tatosian. ‘Sleepaway Camp’ follows the story of Angela (Felissa Rose), a shy girl who has been sent to camp. Angela is soon being targeted by bullies. It’s not long before people, with bad intentions, start turning up dead. The movie will be updated with a modern setting, while honoring the original. I’m glad to hear that so many people involved in the first ‘Sleepaway Camp’ will be taking part in the new movie.
