Blu-ray Review: The Wind (1986)

Super-horny famous novelist Sian Anderson (genre legend Meg Foster, she of Carpenter’s They Live, and Masters of the Universe to name but two) is ready to wing her way to Greece to finish her latest murder mystery novel. Once there she is shown her lodgings by pompous British windbag Elias Appleby (portrayed by a scene stealing Robert Morley), warned of the islands wind situation (spoiler: It ain’t great), and introduced to the villas deranged handyman Phil (portrayed by an equally scene stealing Wings Hauser). So, long story short; our heroine witnesses Phil possibly putting a murder on Appleby and soon she must not only deal with the forces of nature battering her left and right, but with ol’ Phil deciding to do a stalk n’ slay routine on her. Yeah, she’s not going to get much writing done… The Wind is a surprisingly fantastic entry in the rather over-crowded genre of ’80’s slasher flicks… and that has nothing to do

Back in 2016 I sat down with actor-writer-director Miles Doleac to talk about several of his films in an interview. In The Dinner Party, a couple is invited to an exclusive dinner party, not knowing that they are on the menu. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dh0XXNbdyjI[/embedyt] Horror Fuel: “It’s been a while since we got the chance to catch up. What have you been up to?” Miles Doleac: “I’m teaching at Loyola University in New Orleans, the film program there, which is a great gig. I’ve been gearing up for the release of The Dinner Party. I’ve also been juggling a couple of other projects, one of which I was supposed to do this summer, but now, with COVID, of course, that’s up on the air. But,

Blu-ray Review: Brahms: The Boy II (2020)

Married-types Liza (Katie Holmes) and Sean (Owain Yeoman) beat a hasty retreat to the countryside in an attempt to forget a robbery dealio that L-Dawg experienced in the city that left her shook A.F. As fate and the script wound have it, their crotch-goblin Jude (Christopher Convery) discovers a creepy-ass doll in the woods and brings that putrid, porcelain fuck right the fuck home… and guess what? That terrible toy seems to have a life of it’s own. Unrelenting horror biz ensues. Look, I can’t slap a revoltin’ review on Brahms: The Boy II without mentioning 2016’s original recipe The Boy… and you bet your ass there is a spoiler or two heading your way, so consider your arcane asses duly warned. The thing I hated the most about the first entry is fixed-as-all-fuck this go-around… namely the nature of the doll, Brahms, itself. In the first movie, that doll was just a cover for some other sinister shit (though
