Dan Aykroyd, acclaimed writer, actor, musician, and filmmaker, is no stranger to the things that go bump in the night, he’s a Ghostbuster for god’s sake. Now, he’s taking viewers face-to-face with the paranormal as the narrator of Travel Channel’s new paranormal series “Hotel Paranormal.” The series follows the terrifyingly true encounters of those who experience paranormal activities of hotel, motels, and inns from around the world. From objects flying across rooms to ancient spirits trapped in lobbies to demonic guests, “Hotel Paranormal,” in 10 one-hour episodes, brings to life the haunting encounters with dramatic re-creations and paranormal expert insights. As a longtime believer in ghosts, I think the incredible encounters we’re highlighting on ‘Hotel Paranormal’ will open up a lot of minds and hopefully break through some of the skepticism people carry about the paranormal,” said Aykroyd. “I’m excited to lend my voice to help bring viewers across the United States, these gripping real-life ghost stories, many of which

Review: Scare Package

Fear-fare anthology Scare Package combines satirical meta takes on horror movie tropes and delivers a fair share of laughs and grins along with a heaping helping of crackerjack practical gore effects. As might be expected with most portmanteau features, a couple of segments slow things down a bit, but for the most part, the film is a fun effort that tends to dig deeper for its laughs than most horror-trope send-ups. “Cold Open” establishes the tone for the omnibus, as Mike Myers (Jon Michael Simpson) dreams of having more to do in life than merely being the character who sets up the frights to come. Writer/director Emily Hagins delivers a wry take on events and Simpson delivers a solid comical performance. “Rad Chad’s Horror Emporium” serves as a wrap-around for the segments that follow and a lead-in to the final segment; both are directed by Aaron B. Koontz (Camera Obscura). Chad (Jeremy King in a solid comic performance) runs an

Premiere Date Revealed For Netflix’s “Unsolved Mysteries”

One of the most iconic series of my childhood was “Unsolved Mysteries.” Each week I couldn’t wait to plop down in front of the TV for the Robert Stack hosted show to examine unsolved mysteries, missing person cases, murders, ghosts, UFOs, and more. A few weeks backed weeks back we reported that the series is getting a reboot from Netflix. Today, we can report that we’ve learned that the premiere date is set for July 1st. The series, executive produced by “Stranger Thing’s” Shawn Levy, will be a bit different than the hit show that debuted in January of 1987. Firstly, there will be no host. Another difference is that each episode will only focus on one subject, unlike the original. This time around, the series is documentary style. Be sure to tune for the premiere of “Unsolved Mysteries” on Netflix on July 1, 2020. If you would like to rewatch or watch the original series for the first time

Movie Review: Clinton Road (2019)

Poor Mike (Ace Young); his wife Jessica (Sarah Pribis), has pulled ye olde vanishing act somewhere in the vicinity of Clinton Road, New Jersey, U.S. of mother fuckin’ A.! Well the only thing to do is gather up some comrades… in this case Sarah’s sister Isabella (Katie Morrison), Michael’s new girlfriend Kayla (Lauren LaVera), their friend Gianna (Erin O’Brien) and her psychic boyfriend Begory (Cabin Fever‘s James DeBello), and the voice of cynicism that is oft-required in supernatural tales, Mikey’s buddy Tyler (Cody Calafiore)… and head down to Clinton road and solve that mystery once-and-mother fuckin’-for-all! Of course this leads to plenty of horror biz cliches including sex in the woods, strange noises that cause the group to separate to investigate, and even that hoary ol’ chestnut; “the creepy forest ranger” (Carlos Leon)… and don’t forget the ghosts! And it’s that familiarity that leads to some of this pictures biggest faults. There is absolutely nothing in Clinton Road that horror
