Both Lady Gaga And Angela Bassett Will Be Returning For Season 6 Of American Horror Story

American Horror Story had great ratings and raked in several awards for it’s fifth season, ‘Hotel‘. It was also its most controversial season, filled with vampires, ghosts and serial killers. Lady Gaga led the talented cast along with Angela Bassett. As of today it has been confirmed that both the Gaga and Basset, who will be directing a few of the episodes, will be returning for the still unnamed, sixth season. Gaga confirmed her return via a Z100 interview. Ryan Murphy, the series creator, has mentioned that another American Horror alum will hopefully be back for season 6, Mrs. Jessica Lange. Lange did not appear in Hotel, but has been involved in every other season. So far, there have been both rumors and theories about the upcoming season, including that it will involve everything from aliens to Slender Man, but I guess we will just have to wait until the show returns to FX later this year to find out.

Witch Is It?

Once Again, What Is Cynema? Cynema is not about film reviews. I woke up to this HitFix article on the release of the anticipated horror, The Witch. An interviewer recently asked me what my thoughts were on the state of horror. What I think doesn’t matter. This morning’s article by Chris Eggertsen made me rethink my response. Is The Witch a horror movie? It reinforced my belief that The Shining isn’t a horror movie. I don’t think torture porn films are horror either. They are two ends of a spectrum, maybe an apples and oranges kinda thing. I caught shit a year ago for this article on the zombie film: https://leglesscorpse.us/made-zombie-movie-open-letter-filmmaker-harrison-smith/ I argued that zombie films are simple and for the most part, that’s the reason for their popularity. Indie filmmakers love making them because they are cheap to make and simple to write. The plot for almost every zombie film is: survival. I feel they attract a base audience
