Where Can ‘The Terror’ Go Next?

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of the anthology series “The Terror”. The first season was based on the book of the same name by Dan Simmons that follows the doomed Franklyn Expedition that was looking for the Northwest Passage in the arctic. The story follows the crew’s attempt to survive being stuck in the ice while being hunted by a supernatural beast. The second season titled “Infamy” was an original story that took place during WWII and followed Japanese American characters dealing with the horrors of war-time racism while at the same time being haunted by a spirit ripped right out of Japanese folklore. The concept of adding horror elements occurring alongside historical events is quite intriguing and fun. At the moment there’s no word about a third season (which I hope there will be one!) but till then the question remains if the series is going to continue the historical horror anthology premise, where could the series

Dark Whispers Vol 1 is an Australian film that collects previously released short horror films from female directors into one impressive anthology. Fresh spins and unique takes on classic fright-fare themes abound. Director Megan Riakos’s new wraparoundThe Book of Dark Whispers concerns a young woman (Andrea Demetriades) who finds the titular tome while going through her recently deceased mother’s belongings. It’s an effective approach that comments on how traits and baggage are handed down from one generation to another, and how they are not so easy to rid oneself of. Birthday Girl (directed by Angie Black) A ghost story about grief rather than outright horror, this gripping short about a woman (Sarah Bollenberg) who takes an elevator ride with a little girl (Michaela Teschendorff-Harden) still delivers the chills. Universal Announces ‘Monster Mash’ Musical Feature Film

Grammy-nominated director Matt Stawski will be working in the lab late at night to give us an eerie sight, a musical feature, Monster Mash, for Universal Pictures. Stawski will be making his feature debut with the film, based on the classic song by Bobby Pickett. At the moment, there are few details about the musical. But we do know this, the song features the Wolfman, Dracula and his son, Igor, vampires, ghouls, and zombies, so we’ll probably see a lot of Universal classic monsters. John Fischer is spearheading for Temple Hill and will be exec producer with Stawski. Universal’s Senior Vice President of Production Jeyun Munford and Creative Executive Tony Ducret will oversee the project on behalf of the studio.

Amazon’s “Age Of The Living Dead” Gets A 2020 Release Date

Dystopian Films has wrapped production on the second season of Amazon Prime’s “Age of the Living Dead,” following three months of production in Toronto, Los Angeles, and London. The series is set in the near future where vampires and humans are trapped in the United States behind border walls. The series stars Nicola Posener (Mythica), Bill Oberst Jr (Criminal Minds), Deji LaRay (Bosch), William McNamara (Copycat), Peter Barrett (White Collar Hooligan), Peter Woodward (The Patriot), Simon Phillips (No Easy Days), Ken Bressers (Nights Before Christmas), Michael Ray (Stealing Chaplin), and Julia Farino (Veep). Director-Producer Paul Tanter said of the show “Season 1 of the show hit impressive streaming numbers so a second season was always something we wanted to return too. An Interview With Damian Kindler, Series Creator Of Netflix’s “October Faction”

Netflix’s new series “October Faction” has it all, action, monsters, love, drama, magic. The series’ creator Damian Kindler (“American Gods”, “Sleepy Hollow”) took us inside the series and it’s making during our interview, which I’d love to share with you. Based on the graphic novel by Steve Niles, the series follows a family of monster hunters and their teen twins who discover that their parents are monster hunters which sends their lives spiraling into chaos. “October Faction” is produced by High Park Entertainment in association with IDW Entertainment. The CW Orders New Pilot For ‘The Lost Boys’ Series

Last year The CW scrapped the Catherine Hardwicke directed pilot for its new series “The Lost Boys“. This week the network order the new retooled pilot directed by Marcos Siega, who also helmed the pilots for CW’s “The Vampire Diaries” and Batwoman Deadline reports. The new version of the series, based on the 1987 classic, will have an all-new cast and will not feature original Lost Boys cast members Medalion Rahimi and Dakota Shapiro like the first version of the series planned. Rob Thomas, who co-wrote the new script, explained to Deadline the reason for the retooling. “There were scenes that we thought we could do a better job on, so it’s going through a 40% rewrite,” he said. “It’s not a total rewrite.” No cast members have been announced for the pilot as of yet.

Dystopian Films has announced that productions have wrapped on the second season of the dystopian vampire series “Age of the Living Dead” following the three-month shoot in Toronto, LA, and London. The series is set in the near-future where vampires and humans are trapped in the United States behind border walls. The international production outfit, headed by Ken Bressers, Simon Phillips and Paul Tanter, also recently wrapped Stealing Chaplin, a darkly comic neo-noir about a pair of con men who steal the corpse of Charlie Chaplin. DVD Review: Mommy (1995) and Mommy 2 (1997)

“Mommy” (Patty McCormick, unofficially reprising her role from 1956’s The Bad Seed) is a dotting mother to young Jessica Ann (Rachel Lemieux)… and nothing, and I mean nothing will stand in the way of her daughter being a success. To wit: when Jessica fails to win the ‘Student of the Year’ award she straight up murders the girl’s teacher (Star Trek‘s Majel Barrett) and makes it look like an accident. This attracts the attention of hard-ass Lt.
