Stephen King’s ‘The Tommyknockers’ Acquired By Universal Pictures

Horror’s James Wan and Larry Sanitsky are teaming up for the film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Tommyknockers, the second best-selling book by the master of horror. Universal Pictures recently won the bidding war with Netflix, and Sony for the rights to the film, according to THR. While no writer or director has been named we do know that Wan (The Conjuring) will produce under his banner Atomic Monster, along with Roy Lee (IT) from Vertigo and Larry Sanitsky who served as executive producer for the original 1993 TV miniseries. King’s novel, published in 1987, follows writer Bobbi Anderson who becomes obsessed with digging up something she has found buried in the woods near her home. With the help of her friend Jim, she uncovers a spacecraft. Exposure to the Tommyknockers who piloted the craft has a detrimental effect on residents of Haven’s health but gives them a talent for inventing devices under its increasingly malignant influence. Take a look

Movie Review: Eat Me is a Challenging Film With a Serious Dark Streak!

A woman, who is a really shitty house keeper by the way, decides today is the day to commit suicide, and she makes a real day of it too…gobbling pills, planning her death pose, hiding dildos…and of course watching The Beverly Hillbillies, all as one does. Things go south on that plan however when she passes out from the drugs and is promptly raped (well the attempt was there) by one of a pair of home invaders…oh movie, you’re going to be one of those types of affairs, eh? Well not exactly, as the more sympathetic of the duo keeps her awake while his pal goes on a food run, and manages to make her puke during a beej that he talks her into…oh man, this is going to be a rough one…Further degradation occurs as our loathsome unwanted house guest abuses his victim by making her eat and drink from cat dishes while a belt is tied around her

Get Ready To Bug Out, We Have A New Trailer For ‘It Came From The Desert’

While insects have their place in the world let’s face it they can be a nuisance. Imagine if they were bigger and badder what kind of chaos they would cause. That’s the premise of Marko Mäkilaakso’s (interview) giant bug movie It Came from the Dessert. And we have a new trailer. Starring Vanessa Grasse, Mark Arnold, Harry Lister Smith, Claudia Trujillo, and Alex Mills, and co-written by Trent Haaga, the film was inspired by the video game of the same name. In our interview with Marko Mäkilaakso, we asked him to describe the film. This was his response: The story follows Brian and Lukas who are off to desert for a kegger party and celebrate Lucas’ victory in a motocross competition. His winning prize includes meeting the biggest action star in the world who the guys all idolize above all…and I don’t want to ruin the surprise, but giant ants attack! Brian and Lukas have to become the heroes they

Mäkilaakso also directed the 2011 zombie movie War of the Dead and Deadly Descent: The Abominable Snowman. Currently, he has two other films in development, Viking: Rise of the Warrior and Blowback. Horror Fuel: “What inspired you to adapt It Came From the Dessert from the 1989 game?” Mäkilaakso: “I actually wanted to make a motocross-action-comedy set in a desert with big spiders and 80’s vibe. That’s how it all started! The idea was inspired by “Eight legged freaks” and Cinemaware’s classic ”It came from the desert” game. I presented this concept to the producers in Berlin Film Festival few years ago adding that I wanted to call the movie ”It Came From The Desert”, because I loved the

The Witcher Is Coming To The Big Screen

Fans of the hit game and book series The Witcher will be pleased to know that it is getting a Hollywood adaptation. I know for sure that I am. In fact, I’ve already started chatting with friends about who could play who. However, the plot is unknown at this time, so who knows who is going to make an appearance. Well, besides Geralt… not really a Witcher movie without him. From what we know so far, the movie won’t be a direct adaptation of any of the games or novels, but in fact inspired by events and themes from two short stories written by Witcher author Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher and Lesser Evil. I haven’t read the stories myself, but after playing the games I think it’s safe to say there will be monster slaying beautiful set pieces. And thanks to Game of Thrones, there’s a good chance we will get an 18A/R rating to truly hit the tone of

An Update From Joseph Gordon-Levitt On The ‘Sandman’ Movie

Joseph Gordon-Levitt gave an update on the ‘Sandman’ movie, which he will be producing, directing and starring in, at Spike’s Guy Choice Awards this weekend. “Big spectacular action movies are generally about crime fighters fighting crime and blowing shit up. This has nothing to do with that,” He continues “And it was actually one of the things that Neil Gaiman said to me, he said “Don’t have any punching.” Because he never does. If you read the comics, Morpheus doesn’t punch anybody. That’s not what he does. It’s going to be like a grand spectacular action film, but that relies on none of those same old ordinary cliches. So, that’s why it’s taking a lot of time to write, but it’s going to be really good.” Levitt, Gaiman and David S. Goyer, along with Jack Thorne, who will be serving as screenwriter for ‘Sandman’, are working hard to create a movie that will honor Neil Gaiman’s original vision for the
