Jordan Peele & Keegan Michael Key Star As Demons In ‘Wendell And Wild’ (Teaser)

In 2009 director Henry Selick brought us the wonderfully dark and twisted movie, Coraline. He’s back with a new film titled Wendell and Wild, which he co-wrote along with Jordan Peele and Clay McLeod Chapman. In the stop-motion movie, Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key play two scheming demon brothers, Wendell and Wild, who must face their arch-nemesis, the demon-dusting nun Sister Helly, and her two acolytes, the goth teens Kat and Raoul. The movie is being produced by Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, Gotham Group, and Principato-Young Entertainment. Wendell and Wild is set to premiere on Nextflix in 2022. Blu-ray Review: Night of the Animated Dead (2021)

“Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own” Night of the Animated Dead is, and get this, an animated version of Night of the Living Dead. Yeah, I have no idea why either… The story of this flick is exactly the same as the George Romero directed, John Russo scripted 1968 masterpiece that made zombies into the iconic move monsters they are today: Barbra (the Ginger Snaps‘ series Katharine Isabelle) retreats to a nearby deserted farmhouse after a ghoul attacks and kills her brother at a cemetery on the outskirts of Pittsburgh. Once there she encounters Ben (Psych’s Dulé Hill) and a handful of other survivors of what is revealed to be a full-on zombie apocalypse (quite fresh in ’68, not so much now… ). Blu-ray Review: Primal (2019)

It’s not just another boy meets dino love story in Primal, the latest from animation genius Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack). Spear (Aaron LaPlante) is a caveman striding the primordial byways of ol’ planet Earth ‘round back the dawn of evolution, when he encounters Fang… a carnivorous dinosaur on his way out (via extinction ‘natch). The two just so happen to share a common enemy… a pack of prehistoric predators pulled a murder on both of their respective families… and soon become fast friends. The deadly duo then hoof it from one violence smothered scenario to the next, laying a serious ass whippin’ on all manner of monsters, dinosaurs, and evil cults. Excessive bloodletting ensues! Now, what would you say if I told you that all of the above spills n’ chills transpire without a single word uttered? Crazy right? ‘DeadEndia’ Is Coming To Netflix

Hamish Steele‘s horror-comedy DeadEndia is coming to Netflix! The comic will be arriving in 2021 and will feature the voice acting of Zach Barack as Barney, Kody Kavitha as Norma, Emily Osment as Courtney, Alex Brightman as Pugsley, Miss Coco Peru as Pauline Phoenix, Kenny Tran as Logs, and Kathreen Khavari as Badyah. “DeadEndia is about terrifying demons, vengeful ghosts and mysterious magic. It is also about coming of age in a world that wasn’t made for you. It’s a drama about found family, identity and making mistakes,” Steele said in a statement. “I’ve always dreamed of making the show I needed as a lonely, horror-obsessed closeted gay kid and thanks to Netflix and our ridiculously talented, diverse and representative writers room and crew, we have shot way past my dreams and into wildest fantasy territory!”

Blu-ray Review: The Point (1971)

Dig on this y’all; in a kingdom where everything has a point (think a whole ass-load of triangles folks) a boy with a round head named Oblio (The Brady Bunch‘s Mike Lookinland) is having a tough go of it. You see, unlike everyone else in the kingdom, he has no point (real subtle film… real subtle), and when he beats the son of a powerful Count (Lennie Weinrib) at that classic pastime, the triangle toss, his ass is kicked out of the kingdom with the quickness. Oblio arrives in the Pointless Forest and goes on a surreal journey (which is saying something considering what proceeds these events) where he begins to learn, through interactions with the bizarre creatures that inhabit the land, that everything does have a point, even if it isn’t obvious. Blu-ray Review: In the Aftermath (1988)

A cathedral spaceship touches down on a ruined future Earth (in scenes lifted from the 1985 animated feature Angel’s Egg; a collaboration between director Mamoru Oshii and Yoshitaka Amano) as a young angel who has laid an egg is given a lecture from her bro… at least it all makes perfect, reasonable sense… Then we cut to some live-action antics as two gas-masked attired dudes wander a wasteland. They walk and talk (and talk), and occasionally get menaced… then a dude has visions of the animated fracas from the beginning (but there’s a live-action version of the lil’ angel)… The biggest hurdle with In the Aftermath is that the live-action stuff, while taking place in a suitably grim and industrial environment, can’t hold a candle to the beauty and weirdness of the jarringly out of place animated sequences (which the filmmaker’s try in vain to make fit into whatever narrative they have created). Airships And Reality TV: Game Review ‘Bow To Blood: Last Captain Standing’ Xbox One

What do you get when you cross reality TV and Airships? Well, the folks over at Tribetoy came up with a really good idea what it would be like in Bow to Blood: Last Captain Standing. The game came out in 2018 exclusively for PlayStation VR but because of its high acclaim it has been ported for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch and will come out April 3rd. The awesome folks at Tribetoy gave me to the opportunity to play the Xbox One version of the game and all I can say is hold onto your air-pirate hats! You take on the role of Freelancer, an airship captain who, along with your two crew members, has entered a reality show where you compete against other airship crews and be the last captain standing.
