We have tragic news to share with you. On Saturday (12/11/2021), prolific author Anne Rice passed away at the age of 80 due to complications from a stroke. Anne Rice’s “Interview With The Vampire” & “Mayfair Witches” Series Coming To AMC

AMC has just ordered the series adaptation of Anne Rice’s famous novel “Interview With the Vampire,” part of the novelist’s “Vampire Chronicles” series. It will feature eight episodes in its first season premiering in 2022. Earlier this year it was reported that Belle, ’71, and “The Hunting” actor Sam Reid has been cast as the vampire Lestat, played in the film adaptation by Tom Cruise. That’s not all, AMC has also given the go-ahead for “Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches,” the series adaptation of her “Lives of the Mayfair Witches” trilogy. “Interview With the Vampire” and “Mayfair Witches” will be an expanding universe inspired by Rice’s novels which were acquired by AMC earlier this year.

AMC’s “Interview With The Vampire” Series Has Found Its Lestat

We’ve been reporting about the upcoming “Interview With the Vampire” series for a while now. Today, we’ve got a major update, the series has found its Lestat. Variety is reporting that Sam Reid has been cast in the lead role previously played by Tom Cruise in the 1994 classic. Reid has starred in many series including in the current Australian series “The Newsreader,” “Lambs of God,” The Hunting,” “The Astronaut Wives Club,” and in films such as Belle, ’71, and Anonymous. AMC now owns the rights to Anne Rice‘s Interview With the Vampire, along with the entire Vampire Chronicles collection which means they’re in it for the long haul and we may very well see a long-running series as well as potential spin-offs and movies. AMC Sinks Its Teeth Into New “Interview With The Vampire” Series

AMC has officially ordered the new series adaptation of Anne Rice’s “Interview With the Vampire” with an eight-episode first season, Deadline reports. The series is created by Rolin Jones (“Friday Night Lights”) who will also serve as showrunner and writer. Hulu’s “Vampire Chronicles’ Set to Begin Filming This Summer

Following Brian Fuller’s (American Gods) exit from Anne Rice‘s upcoming Hulu series “The Vampire Chronicles,” Dee Johnson has stepped in as showrunner and the series is not wasting any time. Filming set to begin this September in Budapest. The Vampire Chronicles book series began in 1976 and was adapted for the classic 1994 film Interview with the Vampire starring Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. Paramount TV and Anonymous scored the rights to the 11 book series that includes The Vampire Lestat and The Queen of the Damned. Anne Rice, her son Christopher Rice, along with Anonymous’ David Kanter, and Steve Golin will executive produce Hulu’s new series, expected to premiere next year.

Hulu Sinks Its Fangs Into Anne Rice’s “Vampire Chronicles”

Hulu is bringing Anne Rice‘s “Vampire Chronicles” to life in new original series. The book series was co-written by Rice’s son Christopher. Bryan Fuller, the showrunner for both “Star Trek: Discovery” and “American Gods” was attached earlier this year to write the script but has since stepped away, THR reports. The book series, which includes “Interview with the Vampire” follows an 18th-century French Nobleman Lestat de Lioncourt who becomes a vampire, travels the world, and even becoming a rock star. The 12th book in the series, “Blood Communion: A Tale of Prince Lestat” will be out later this year.

Bryan Fuller Goes To Work On Anne Rice’s ‘The Vampire Chronicles’ TV Series

Bryan Fuller is currently sinking his teeth into the pilot for the television adaption of Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Amy Powel, Paramount’s TV president, revealed that fuller is now working with Anne Rice and her son Christopher on the show’s pilot. It has not been revealed at this time is Fuller will be the showrunner for the vampire series. We bought 11 novels as part of the Vampire Chronicles initiative,” Powel stated. “Bryan Fuller is working with Anne Rice and [her son] Chris, who are writing the pilot. Rights To Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles Optioned By Paramount

We first told you about Anne Rice’s planning a television adaption of her Vampire Chronicles back last year. Back in December she confirmed her plan to bring the story to television with her son Christopher by her side. Since then, we haven’t had heard any new, until now. Rice revealed on her Facebook page that Paramount Television and Anonymous Content have optioned the series along with the rights to eleven other books from the brilliant writer.
