Marvel’s ‘Blade’ Has Found Its Writer!

Stacey Osei-Kuffour‘s name should sound familiar, she’s the writer of HBO’s “Watchmen” series and she has just signed on to pen the script for Marvel’s new Blade movie and will hold the title of the first black female scribe to write a Marvel movie, THR reports. The film was first announced at 2019’s Comic-Con and been searching for a writer since. Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali (Green Book) is set to star as the “daywalker” Blade, who was originally played by Wesley Snipes. The character made its first appearance in 1973’s comic Tomb of Dracula No. 10 and has since become a cult favorite. Blade was born part vampire after his pregnant mother bitten by a vampire while he was still in the womb. Besides writing for “Watchmen,” Oslei-Kuffour earned Emmy nominations for her work on Hulu’s comedy series “Pen15.” She also served as part of the writing team for Amazon’s hit Nazi-hunting series “Hunters” that stars Al Pacino.

‘Blade’ Announcement Coming Soon From Marvel

Back in 2019, it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con that Marvel planned to sink its fangs into a new Blade movie as part of MCU with Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali (pictured) as the title character, taking the role over for franchise star Wesley Snipes. The last we heard anything was back in October when it was revealed that the hunt was on for a writer for the project. But it’s been radio silence since, until now. At Disney’s recent Investor Day, Marvel’s Kevin Feige teased that we should be getting an announcement “very soon,” and that the project is finally coming together. . “As we announced at Comic-Con last year, we’re moving ahead with Blade, starring Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali,” Feige said during the presentation. He continued, “The development and storylines are coming together, and we’ll have announcements very, very soon.” We’ll update you as soon as the aforementioned announcement is made.

Mahershala Ali Sinks His Teeth Into The New ‘Blade’ Movie

Following a flood of entertainment news from SDCC, news came that two-time Oscar winner and “True Detective” star Mahershala Ali is gearing up to hunt down vampires in Marvel’s new Blade movie! During the Marvel panel at San Diego Comic-Con last night Ali appeared and revealed the news that he is will be starring as the badass day-walker Blade, the character made iconic by Wesley Snipes. There are no other details available yet, but we assume that the movie will be out in late 2020 or early 2021. We’ll keep you posted. Personally, I think it’s a good fit, especially if Ali beefs up. He’s an incredible actor (he’s got two Oscars for God’s sake). He was fantastic in “True Detective” and in “Luke Cage”, in which he plays the villain Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes. If you haven’t seen either series, I strongly recommend that you do so. You will find “True Detective” on Prime and “Luke Cage” on Netflix.

It is an honor teaming up with him and joining forces with one of the best in the world. Having him on the team, allows us to create a style of zombie/horror films that have never been seen. This will be an action-packed adventure for everyone. We are breaking all the zombie rules.” Brewster added, “Our zombies will not move or act like anything the audience has seen before.” The film centers on two SWAT officers on a desperate hunt through an overrun college campus in search of a man who holds a vaccine to the zombie virus. There’s a lot of conversations going on right now and we’re very blessed to have the enthusiasm and interest in something coming from that world again. Fans of the ‘Blade’ franchise have eagerly awaited news of a new film hat has been rumored for years. Today, we have a confirmation from an unlikely source, ‘Underworld’s’ Kate Beckinsale who lays the badass character Selene. During this past weekend’s New York Comic Con, Beckinsale was answering questions about her soon to be released sequel ‘Underworld: Blood Wars’ when she was asked about the possible cross-over wanted by the people behind ‘Underworld’. She simply answered, “No. We had that idea. No. They’re busy. They’re doing something with Blade.” That confirms that the sequel is still alive and is in development. Hopefully we will see it sooner rather than later. Rumors have come that say the new Marvel film will be based on Wesley Snipe’s vampire hunting character, while others say that it will be about Blade’s daughter Fallon Grey. Three New Antihero Original Series Coming To Netflix

Netflix is working hard to expand their original programming, and is doing a mighty fine job I might add. With shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones forming huge fan bases, it’s no surprise that they are adding shows along the same lines, including Punisher. Marvel and Netflix have created a winning partnership and according to sources they’re adding three new series that fans will finding interesting. According to MovieCreedLive and ComicBook.com, their sources have reported that Netflix will be adding live-action series based on Blade, Ghost Rider and Moon Knight to their streaming library. While it hasn’t been confirmed, the information sounds pretty legit. 2007’s Ghost Rider did pretty well, however the 2011 sequel bombed with fans. Moon Knight, the lesser known of the three, has a lot of potential in the right hands. In my opinion, each of the three series could be great. Netflix proved that they could make fantastic streaming series with Daredevil, which has impressed the

A Series And A Movie For Fallon Grey, Blade’s Daughter

A couple of months ago we reported that Wesley Snipes has been talking with Marvel about reprising his role as the badass vampire slayer Blade. Now news has come that John Ridley has been hired to bring a new hero to life for a show on ABC. According to Bleeding Cool, a series based on Blade’s daughter Fallon Grey is Ridley’s new project. Word is Marvel also wants to develop a movie on Blade and Fallon Grey. There is no word to who they are looking to cast in the movie as Fallon, but let’s hope that Snipes will be back for his role. I think it would be a huge mistake to cast anyone else as Blade. I would love to see Blade and his daughter together in action. Marvel has also announced a new comic book series that will revolve around Fallon. So far there has been no date announced for either the series or the film.

Marvel Announces A New Blade Comic Series With Female Lead

Marvel Comics has just announced that there will be a new series featuring a day-walking, vampire-hunting, badass coming this fall. Blade, who was born Eric Brooks, won’t be the titular character this time out though. This time around it will be his 16 year old daughter, Fallon Grey, who will be kicking undead ass and taking names. She will also probably be taking notes seeing as she is still in High School. Fans of the Blade franchise shouldn’t be worried though, as he will still be there to mentor her as a father and train her as a monster hunter. (No word on who the mother is yet) While the comic franchise is getting a reboot, there have also been rumors of the possibility of a new Blade film, which we reported on here. Blade #1 is set to debut this October. In the meantime, stay tuned for further updates on both the comic and the film.

Wesley Snipes Returning As Blade?

Odds are you’ve seen at least one of the movies from the ‘Blade’ movies, we all have. I’m not ashamed to admit that I think that Wesley Snipes made a great vampire killing badass. To be honest, I like the ‘Blade’ franchise a lot. When I read that Snipes told Deadline during an interview that he has been talking with Marvel, who purchased the rights to ‘Blade’ , several years ago, about his role. That’s right, Blade may be coming back! “[Blade 4] is controlled by Marvel and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting a we discussed a number of things. I don’t know where it is on their schedule at this point, that hasn’t been decided. I guess it’s still up in the air.” Snipes made the comment in reference to his meeting with Marvel about returning to his role as Blade. He also stated that entering the Marvel universe in another way “…is possible
