The Trailer For ‘Spontaneous’ Is Blowing Up!

The new trailer for Spontaneous is blowing up! Part comedy, with a dash of horror, the movie bursts onto VOD and Digital this October from Paramount Home Entertainment. Things get bloody in the new trailer for writer-director Brea Grant‘s (After Midnight) comedy laced horror-thriller 12 Hour Shift in which Angela Bettis (Carrie, The Woman) makes her return to the genre. It’s 1998 and over the course of one night at an Arkansas hospital, a junkie nurse, her scheming cousin and a group of black market organ-trading criminals get caught up in a heist gone wrong. Blu-ray Review: Bloodstone (1988)

The Bloodstone, giant-ass ruby of antiquity, has been pinched by small potatoes thief Paul Lorre (Jack Kehler) at the behest of Ludwig Van Hoeven (Christopher Neame, Johnny Alucard from one of my all time fav fright flicks; Dracula A.D. 1972) down India way. Enter: corny-as-fuck American newlyweds Sandy and Stephanie McVey (Brett Stimely… who has played President Kennedy in like four million films, and Anna Nicholas… who was on an episode of Mr. Belvedere once). While these two ham it up to the Nth degree, Lorre secretly slips them the ruby to avoid being arrested by the Indian authorities headed by Inspector Ramesh (Charlie Brill… more on this guy in a bit)… a man so bumbling and full of pratfalls it’s near impossible to imagine him being able to walk and chew gum successfully, let alone actually perform his job… but anyway… These two don’t keep the stone for long, as one wild-as-fuck taxi ride later, courtesy of Shyam Sabu

Courtney Cox Stars In New Horror Comedy Series “Shining Vale”

Scream franchise star Courteney Cox is making her return to horror in the upcoming Starz pilot “Shining Vale.” Greg Kinnear will be starring alongside the actress, Deadline reports. The new half-hour horror-comedy hails from “Divorce” creator Sharon Horgan and “Trial & Error” co-creator Jeff Astrof, Warner Bros. Television, and Lionsgate. Dearbhla Walsh (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) will direct the pilot. The series “is about a dysfunctional family that moves from the city to a small town into a house in which terrible atrocities have taken place. But no one seems to notice except for Pat (Cox), the mom, who’s convinced she’s either depressed or possessed — turns out, the symptoms are exactly the same. Movie Review: Useless Humans (2020)

You know what can fuck up a birthday party six ways to Sunday? If you said “aliens” you are both fuckin’ insane, and just the right kind of audience for the flick covered in today’s review; Useless Humans! As I mentioned above; it’s birthday time for our hapless hero Brian (Josh Zuckerman), and his bestest pals are throwing him a bash to celebrate turnin’ the big three oh! Drinkin’ and generally ass-foolery ensue until an alien antagonist crashes the shin-dig… and this creepy creature has one mood; completely pissed-off! Now instead of flip-cup and bong rips, it’s going to be a night of saving the fuckin’ world from a threat beyond the stars! Useless Humans has a lot going for it boils n’ ghouls! First of all, the ensemble cast assembled for this silly sci-fi fracas is top-notch; they’re funny, engaging, and they get you to care about their plight… which is good considering the craziness of their sitch! First Look: Dark Sky Films Acquires Horror Comedy ‘It Cuts Deep’

Dark Sky Films today announced it has acquired all North American distribution rights to the new horror-comedy It Cuts Deep, the directorial debut from Nicholas Payne Santos. It Cuts Deep lives up to its title, revealing the extremes to which the fear of getting married and having children can go. While on Christmas vacation, a young couple contemplates their future together. Ashley (Quinn Jackson, “The Blacklist”, Hunting Season) is interested in marriage and kids, which terrifies Sam (acclaimed comedian Charles Gould, The Big Sick, Bonding).
