The Next Film From ‘The Conjuring’ Universe Will Be Very Different

The Conjuring 2 spin-off The Nun has now arrived in theaters and James Wan is not wasting any time. Not only is a third Annabelle film on its way along with The Conjuring 3, but the plan for The Conjuring 2‘s next spin-off is also already in the works, The Crooked Man. We’ve reported on The Crooked Man‘s status several times in the past, but not much news has come our way lately, however, today we have an update to share with you. In several recent interviews, James Wan has stated that his goal with each spin-off is a very different tone from the other parts of the universe. We think we have a really exciting story. What we want to do, with The Conjuring universe, is we want each of our little offshoots to have a very different flavor, right? So, for example, Annabelle is the classic sort-of haunted doll subgenre. And with The Crooked Man, I would love

‘The Conjuring 3’ Will Be Very Different From Its Predecessors

The Conjuring franchise is quickly becoming one of the biggest franchises in the genre. The number of spin-offs keeps multiplying including Annabelle and Annabelle 2: Creation, The Nun which has entered production, and a possible Crooked Man film in the works. Now, The Conjuring is getting a third film. During an interview with CinemaBlend, producer Peter Safran talks about the next installment that will continue to explore the supernatural and paranormal investigations by Ed and Loraine Warren, played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, and how The Conjuring 3 will be very different from its predecessors. Another Spin-Off For The Conjuring 2 ?

The Conjuring is headed towards being the franchise with the most spin-offs in history. There is possibly another spin-off on its way. And no, I’m not talking about Annabelle 2: Creation or The Nun. Annabelle: Creation producer Peter Safran said something very interesting while talking with JoBlo recently. He said that it is a possibility that the “Crooked Man” from The Conjuring 2 may get a film of his own. “…I suspect a movie with him would be really really cool.” He continued, “…we have some interesting ideas for him. So we’ll see.” The creepy long-legged entity, played by Javier Botet, was not CGI like many thought. That was just Botet in a skin tight suit. Safran explains, “None of it was CG. It was 100% practical. That actor just looks like that, we created an amazing wardrobe for him. Skin tight latex-basically suit.” I could definitely see a whole film based on the character, he is creepy as hell.
