Mike Flanagan’s Adaptation Of King’s ‘Doctor Sleep’ Enters Development

Stephen King’s adaptations have been everywhere over the past few years, not that we are complaining. That trend shows no sign of ending anytime soon. In fact, Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of King’s sequel to The Shining, Doctor Sleep has now officially entered development. Flanagan will be directing from the script he penned with Akiva Goldsman. Flanagan is responsible for last year’s fantastic Netflix movie adaptation of King’s Gerald’s Game, along with films like Oculus, Hush, Before I wake, and Ouija: Origins of Evil. In Doctor Sleep, Danny Torrance carries the trauma he experienced at the Overlook Hotel into his adult life. He has become a reflection of his father, with a lingering rage bubbling under the surface. Drinking numbs his pain and his “shine”, but his powers return when he chooses sobriety and begins using his gift to help those dying at a hospice. He forms a psychic connection with a young girl who also has abilities, and who has

Jamie Bernadette Talks Acting And The State Of Women In The Film Industry

I sat down with actress Jamie Bernadette who has a lot of films coming up, including two films out this April, 4/20 Massacre and Killing Joan. Bernadette gave us insight into the films and a look at what’s to come. Jamie also told us about what it’s like to be a woman in the film industry, harder than you thought it would ever be. Horror Fuel: “Your first two roles were in truth based serial killer films, ‘Son of Sam’ and ‘Nightstalker’, both written and directed by Ulli Lommel. How did that happen?” Jamie Bernadette: “I mean, it just kind of happened. My friend was cast in the lead in ‘Son of Sam’ and referred me for a role. That’s when Ulli Lommel was like ‘Sure, yeah, have her come.’ That’s how that happened.” Horror Fuel: “I noticed you in ‘American Satan’. That’s such an incredible movie. ‘Happy Death Day’ Getting A Sequel

Last year’s Happy Death Day was hit with genre fans bringing in $100 million at box offices with a $4.8 million budget, so it’s no surprise that there’s a sequel in the works. Star Jessica Rothe has hinted that there may be a Back to the Future style feel to the sequel. The sequel, the way he described it to me, elevates the movie from being a horror movie – and I wouldn’t even say it’s just a horror movie because it’s a horror, comedy, rom-com drama – into a Back to the Future type of genre film where the sequel joins us right from where we left off, it explains a lot of things in the first one that didn’t get explained, and it elevates everything,” Rothe told Collider. “I was really pleased to know that we weren’t just gonna be pushing all the buttons that people loved the first time, over and over again, ‘cause I think that
