Dark Sky Films’ highly anticipated movie, Human, from director Matt Stuertz, is set to be unleashed this week. The film completely horrified audiences at Fright Fest and deeply grossed out crowds at Obscura Film Fest. Now, a wider audience can finally experience this terrifying cinematic journey.
A Desperate Night Alone
The story follows Dani Ferris (Jackie Kelly) closely. Initially, the exhausted protagonist finds herself completely alone. She is pushed dangerously past reason. She wanted a little digital debauchery before bed. However, she ultimately gets a blood-drenched supernatural nightmare instead. Her quiet evening quickly becomes a disaster as she plunges into heartbreak and supernatural horror.
Claustrophobic Thrills and Chills
The film aims to create a deeply claustrophobic atmosphere as it unfolds over a single, terrifying night. Human relentlessly throws its desperate heroine into chaos. In this nightmare, every single relationship represents a dangerous gamble. And every passing hour inevitably brings a new threat.
Director Stuertz intentionally keeps the narrative pressure constantly rising. As a result, Dani rides an unpredictable emotional roller coaster. She never sees these horrific twists coming.

It is well past midnight, and Dani remains alone. She is incredibly tired and completely unprepared for this ordeal. Suddenly, tonight becomes a chaotic mix of friends and lovers. Additionally, she encounters bitter enemies and deceptive frenemies alike. Weapons are drawn, from small guns to much bigger ones. Subsequently, themes of love, hate, life, and death collide violently. Ultimately, things become a hell of a lot more supernatural. Dani will absolutely never forget this deeply traumatic night. Ominously, he will definitely never forget this night either.
The Talented Cast and Crew
Matt Stuertz wrote and directed this frightening feature film. He previously directed projects like Tonight She Comes. He also co-produced this movie alongside David Christopher Pitt.
Alongside Jackie Kelly, the film stars actor Brock Russell and Cecily Dowd. Jeffrey Decker and Mia Sydney round out the stellar ensemble. Together, they bring this terrifying script to vivid life.
