Sink Your Teeth Into A First Look At The Horror-Comedy Vidar The Vampire

Sink your teeth into a first look and the first trailer for the horror-comedy Vidar The Vampire, or VampyrVidar as known in its Norwegian home. Written and directed by Thomas Aske Berg and Fredrik Waldeland, the film stars Henrik Rafaelsen, Kim Sønderholm, and Thomas Aske Berg. From the Press Release: Vidar the Vampire is a Norwegian ultra low budget horror-comedy produced by UFOh! The film is set to premiere at The Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund on August 23rd, 2017 and will screen at both Fantasy Filmfest, Germany and FilmQuest, USA in September, 2017. The film is self-financed with a budget totalling approximately USD 60.000. The making of Vidar the Vampire has been an entirely organic process from beginning to end, both by choice and necessity. We started writing the script in 2012, shot and edited a pilot in 2013, went back to the drawing board and rewrote the script over and over from 2013 to 2015. The rest

Warner Bros. In Talks With Two Stars For The ‘Little Shop Of Horror’ Remake

Last year, we reported that Warner Bros. was remaking The Little Shop of Horrors with Arrow’s Greg Berlanti in the director’s chair. Based on Frank Oz’s 1986 movie-musical, the new script was penned by Matthew Robinson (Black Box). According to The Hashtag Show, the studio is now circling two well known actors for the lead roles of Seymour and Audrey, Josh Gad, who recently played LeFou in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and Pitch Perfect actress Rebel Wilson. While the two musically talented actors have not officially signed the studio is reporting that they are very interested. In the original film, Rick Moranis starred as Seymour Krelborn, a down-on-his luck florist who comes across a strange plant who has a taste for blood. While raising the ever growing and always hungry plant, he watches as the woman he loves, Audrey, is mistreated by her boyfriend (Steve Martin). Little Shop of Horrors is one of my favorite horror-comedy-musicals. While I find

Lucas Birnie Seeks Backers For Indie-Creature Feature ‘Were-Wool’

Filmmaker Lucas Birnie is seeking backers for upcoming indie creature-feature, Were-Wool. Influenced equally by the 1981 John Landis classic tale of full-moon bloodlust, An American Werewolf in London, and James Gunn’s 2006 cult splatter comedy Slither, the director aims to, as stated on the film’s Kickstarter page, be “the culmination of a few of my – and what I can only hope are also your – favourite things: love, laughs, lycanthropy, sheep, blood, guts, and more blood.” Here’s a brief synopsis of the story, also from the movie’s Kickstarter page: “Max Pemberton is your average everyday shmuck who has had to give up on his aspirations and settle into a more practical lifestyle in the rural town of Lafontaine with his long-time girlfriend, and local veterinarian, Sarah Ackerman. Fed up with his work as an archivist for the local insurance broker Max makes a last-ditch effort to take charge of his life, that is, until under the light of the

Is ‘The Mummy’ As Bad As Everyone Says?

Yes. Yes it is. ………But I think its worth watching anyway, as a lesson in how not to make a horror movie, if nothing else. Studio horror rightfully gets a lot of shit, and The Mummy might just be the perfect example of a production studio that doesn’t have a fucking clue what horror fans want. But what this disaster-piece really does is show how little faith studios have in horror at all. Despite films like The Conjuring grossing over $300 Million dollars, film producers still don’t believe horror has the drawing power that more traditional Blockbuster and action films do. So rather than anything close to a horror movie, The Mummy is instead a big budget Tom Cruise action film, the start of a cinematic universe no less (on a related note, has anyone outside of Marvel even come close to a halfway watchable cinematic universe?) Never mind the fact that the mummy is a monster with literally thousands

Take A Ride Down ‘Lost Gully Road’ In It’s First Teaser

For fans of a horror down under, Lost Gully Road, the new Austrailan Supernatural Thriller from Johnny Ghost director Donna McRae might be just what it takes to scratch that Aussie itch, with the first teaser dropping onto Youtube. And teaser is the right word for it, because this little trailer doesn’t tell you jack shit about the movie. Not that going into a movie knowing jack shit about it is necessarily a bad thing. Nothing ruins a good twisty movie like spoiling the hell out of it in the marketing. From the press release, Lost Gully Road “tells the story of Lucy, a directionless young woman who travels to a secluded cottage in the forest to wait for her sister. With no television and little communication with the outside world she spends her days alone and drinking to pass the time. That is, until her unexpected host decides to keep her company…” Wow, spending days alone and drinking to
