Pumpkinhead Is Being Raised Once Again In A New Reboot

Another 80’s horror flick is being rebooted. This time it’s 1988’s supernatural film Pumpkinhead. EW is reporting that Peter Block, the executive producer of the Saw franchise, has picked up the rights to Pumpkinhead and has a script penned by Nate Atkins. Block is currently searching for a director for the reboot, which he will produce. And hopes to begin filming early next year, using practical effects like in the original. Pumpkinhead is one of my favorite horror films of the late ’80s, early ’90s,” Block said. “Stan Winston sits on that Mount Rushmore of iconic filmmakers because of his creature designs, and that was his first directing effort. The creature’s great but the emotional story is wonderful as well. I got the rights to Pumpkinhead, and hooked up with a great young writer called Nate Atkins, and we developed our script, which is really solid. The original film starred Lance Henricksen (Aliens) as a man, living deep in the

According To An Original Cast Member A Series Reboot Of Charmed Is Coming

With Hollywood’s obsession with remakes and reboots on the big screen, it’s no surprise that the trend of rehashing fan favorites is now moving to television. One of the most popular TV series in the horror genre from 1998-2006 was the bewitching tale of three sisters, all witches. If you guessed that I’m talking about Charmed, you’d be right. Since 2013 a remake of the show has been in the works, but with little mention of it the news had been forgotten by most, until now. An update came recently from Alyssa Milano, one of the original cast members. Milano not only revealed that the reboot of Charmed is now in development over at CBS, but that the original cast would not be returning. She also seems to imply that if CBS decided to do a reunion show she and others from the series would be interested. “Charmed fans! Nothing has been confirmed. CBS is developing a reboot without the

Paramount Has Ordered The Reboot Of ‘Pet Sematary’

The latest horror film to join the long list of remakes/reboots is the classic film, ‘Pet Sematary’. ’28 Weeks Later’ director Jaun Carlos Fresnadillo will be directing the reboot of ‘Pet Sematary’, which was based on the Stephen King novel by the same name. Jeff Buhler, who penned ‘The Midnight Meat Train’, wrote the script for the new version. The new version of the 1989 classic will focus more on the family’s emotional aspect of the story. Buhler has made the comments that this film will be very different than the classic, but will still retain certain events. Right now the reboot is in early preproduction and is waiting budget approval from Paramount, but they hope to start filming at the end of this year. Buhler My question to Paramount, why? ‘Pet Sematary’ is already the best it could possibly be. I hear romantic comedies could use some work, go reboot their movies and leave us horror fans alone to

‘Sleepaway Camp’ Is Getting A Reboot

Over the past few years we have seen a horde of reboots, remakes and sequels. Now it seems the 1983 slasher film ‘Sleepaway Camp’ has been added to that list. The cult classic is being given an over haul by Jeff Katz. Katz will co-produce the movie along side the movie’s original writer/director Robert Hilzik, Michele Tatosian. ‘Sleepaway Camp’ follows the story of Angela (Felissa Rose), a shy girl who has been sent to camp. Angela is soon being targeted by bullies. It’s not long before people, with bad intentions, start turning up dead. The movie will be updated with a modern setting, while honoring the original. I’m glad to hear that so many people involved in the first ‘Sleepaway Camp’ will be taking part in the new movie. The news of the reboot has just begun to be released, hopefully we will hear who will star in the modern version soon. We do know that Felissa Rose, the original
