And the remakes just keep coming. Like it or not, there is currently a remake in the works of the classic genre film An American Werewolf in London from Max Landis (Victor Frankenstein). During a conversation with Fandom Max stated that his version will be a straight-forward remake but with a modern twist. There’s no guarantee that the movie will exist but I’m very excited about it. I’m not here to remake American Werewolf in London into something it isn’t, I want to do everything from the original movie modern, and that’s it. He continued on to tease cameos from the original cast. Griffin Dunne..what about Jenny Agutter? Coem on, Jenny’s killing it right now. She was In Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It made me so excited! Yeah, there’s cameos from ideally literally everyone.

Max Landis Speaks Out About Remaking ‘ An American Werewolf In London’

With the film industry determined to remake/reboot every genre film we ever loved (at least that’s how it feels), it seems no classic is off limits. It was just a matter of time before John Landis’ An American Werewolf in London was added to the loooong list of revamped films. We reported back last year that Max Landis, John’s son, is remaking his father’s 1981 classic (at least it is staying in the family). Robert Kirkman and David Albert, the producers of ‘The Walking Dead’ are the source of the idea to do the remake and will produce under their Skybound banner. Max recently spoke with IMDb about the project: I’m gonna write it and I think I’m gonna direct it,” Landis said. “I like the script I wrote, you know? I’m halfway through it right now, I hope it turns out great.” He went to make it clear that he understands that fans are concerned and that he is

‘IT’ Director Sets His Sights On The ‘Pet Sematary’ Remake

There is little doubt that the most highly anticipated film of the year is IT. Even though the adaption of Stephen King’s classic is still a month from opening in theaters, director Andy Muschietti has already confirmed that he will be helming the second film that will pick up with the Losers’ Club as adults. But it seems Muschietti and his producer/sister Barbara are going to continue making King adaptions, at least for a while. Their next target, the remake of King’s Pet Semetary, originally released in 1989 and directed by Mary Lambert. We reported back in 2015 that Paramount had ordered the reboot of Pet Sematary. It is unclear what has changed, but the remake has been listed for sale. Muschietti told the Toronto Sun that he is hoping to claim it for his own. We’re huge fans of Pet Sematary. If we can get our hands on that and do the Pet Sematary we want to do, that

Bub Gets A New Look And New Name In The ‘Day Of The Dead’ Remake

Fans were crushed earlier this month when George A. Romero passed away. One of his most cherished classics is Day of the Day. Today, we have a first look at Jonathan Schaech who will be playing the role of the intelligent zombie in Héctor Vicens’ remake. Originally named Bub, the iconic character has a new name in the upcoming remake. He is now called Max. That’s a pretty big change for such a well known zombie. In an interview with Bloody Disgusting, Schaech described Max as “more as a Hulk thank Bub.” Max is more of a “Bub on steroids”. In the remake, Max is obsessed with the new character Zoe (Sophia Skelton). Schaech also compared the new version of Romero’s 1985 classic with ‘The Walking Dead’, which interesting considering the fact that Romeo made it clear on several occasions that he disliked the hit series. Basically, it’s just a Soap Opera with a zombie occasionally. I always used the

Warner Bros. In Talks With Two Stars For The ‘Little Shop Of Horror’ Remake

Last year, we reported that Warner Bros. was remaking The Little Shop of Horrors with Arrow’s Greg Berlanti in the director’s chair. Based on Frank Oz’s 1986 movie-musical, the new script was penned by Matthew Robinson (Black Box). According to The Hashtag Show, the studio is now circling two well known actors for the lead roles of Seymour and Audrey, Josh Gad, who recently played LeFou in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and Pitch Perfect actress Rebel Wilson. While the two musically talented actors have not officially signed the studio is reporting that they are very interested. In the original film, Rick Moranis starred as Seymour Krelborn, a down-on-his luck florist who comes across a strange plant who has a taste for blood. While raising the ever growing and always hungry plant, he watches as the woman he loves, Audrey, is mistreated by her boyfriend (Steve Martin). Little Shop of Horrors is one of my favorite horror-comedy-musicals. While I find

Warner Bros. Remaking ‘Invasion Of The Body Snatchers’

One of the classic horror/sci-fi films that has always had a following is Don Siegel’s 1956 Invasion of the Body Snatchers, based on the 1954 novel ‘The Body Snatchers’ by Jack Finney, and was remade in 1978 by director Philip Kaufman. With the current rash of remakes/reboots it is no surprise that Warner Bros. has a new version of the film currently in development. The script is being penned by David Leslie Johnson who also wrote the scripts for The Conjuring 2 and the upcoming sequel, The Conjuring 3. John Davis (Predator, I, Robot) will produce. The film is set in a small town invaded by aliens who plant pods that eventually open to release what looks like a copy of the humans in town, void of any emotion. We will keep you posted as the story develops. In the meantime, check out the trailer for the 1978 film.

‘Nightmare On Elm Street’ Reboot Still Alive

Back in 2015 we reported that a new Nightmare on Elm Street reboot was in the works. Last August we confirmed that David Leslie Johnson (Orphan, The Conjuring 2) will be penning the script. After that, very little was mentioned about the reboot, until now. When news came that Johnson will writing The Conjuring 3, fans and new sites took to IMDb to learn that Johnson is still attached to the film and that the plot had been “leaked”, or so they were supposed to believe. The reality is that anyone can edit IMDb. The plot is 100% fake, thankfully. It’s a terrible plot. One thing we do know is that sadly, it’s not likely that we will see Robert Englund reprise his role as Freddy. It just won’t be the same without Englund. The faux plot: “When Brandon Higgins begins to appear in other people’s dreams at will, he has no idea that he is the illegitimate son of
