Hidden Gem: ‘The Silence Of The Hams’

While cruising around on YouTube to find some B-movies to watch for a future article, I stumbled, more like tripped over, a film I can’t believe I never heard of and after watching it I watched it again, The Silence of the Hams. The Silence of the Hams is a satirical film released in 1994 that spoofs The Silence of the Lambs and Psycho. The film is directed, written, and stars Italian comedian Ezio Greggio. The film features an impressive cast along with a list of cameos that includes John Carpenter, Mel Brooks, Joe Dante, John Landis, and Ray De Luca. The film follows FBI Agent Joe Dee Fostar (Billy Zane) who needs the help of Dr. Animal Cannibal Pizza (Dom DeLuise) to locate and stop a serial killer. Meanwhile, Fostar’s girlfriend Jane Wine (Charlene Tilton) steals money entrusted to her by her boss (Rip Taylor) and his investor (Bubba Smith) and ends up fleeing to a motel owned by

Now, it’s suddenly sprung to life. Word is, “Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman has now come on board to produce the reboot, meaning that the film is now moving forward. Blu-ray Review: An American Werewolf in London (1981)

I’m not even going to fuck around; An American Werewolf in London is one of the finest horror pictures ever made. Doubtless, no one reading these wicked words would need any convincing to agree… but for the one person out there that may be unfamiliar with this fright flick, I’m gonna kick of this revoltin’ review of Arrow Video’s new Blu-ray release of this beast of a film with a sinister synopsis (I mean I always do that but what-fucking-ever). Two American friends, let’s call them David and Jack… because that’s what their character’s names are… anyway these two dudes (played by David Naughton and Griffin Dunn respectively) are on one of those European backpacking trips that the kids of today are just so gosh darn fucking fond of. After getting the bums rush at the local watering hole, our heroes set off into the night, and get attacked by a savage werewolf (you can bet that nugget should be

Blu-ray Review: Schlock (1973)

Schlock begins in the aftermath of a mass killing by the Banana Killer, so named because he leaves a banana peel at the scene of every crime. Experts predict that the murders will only increase, and police don’t have a clue as to the killer’s identity. Meanwhile, a group of teens explore a cave and discover just what is committing the crimes; a violence prone missing link, more ape than man! Once discovered, the brute terrorizes the countryside leaving murder and mayhem in it’s wake! From the description above, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Schlock is a straight up fright flick, but let me assure you it is anything but! Full of sight and running gags, corny jokes, ridiculous characters, and a fantastic creature suit by a young Rick Baker (with writer/director John Landis crammed inside); Schlock may be one of the most ludicrous, and hilarious horror comedies (a genre Landis would return to eight years later with 1981’s
