The Dyatlov Pass Incident has long been a mystery. Now, 1091 Pictures has acquired the highly-anticipated documentary An Unkown Compelling Force that will delve into the strange event in hopes of shedding light on the mystery. Directed by Liam Le Guillou, An Unknown Compelling Force examines the controversial true story of the Dyatlov Pass Incident, known as Russia’s greatest unsolved mystery, an unexplained event that led to the gruesome death of nine student hikers in Russia’s unforgiving Ural Mountains in 1959. For more than 60 years the story has been shrouded in mystery and conspiracy theories, suggesting everything from UFOs, murder to a Soviet Government cover-up. On a journey to separate fact from fiction, adventure filmmaker Liam Le Guillou travels under the radar to the very location of the incident to attempt to uncover the true story, interviewing Russian investigators, journalists, and friends of the hikers, among others. Scott Cooper Reunites With Christian Bale For Edgar Allen Poe Movie ‘The Pale Blue Eye’

Louis Bayard‘s 2003 novel The Pale Blue Eye is being adapted for the big screen by Antlers director Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart, Antlers) who also penned the screenplay, according to Deadline. 31 Days Of Anime Horror Part 4: ‘Monster’

It’s October and that means it’s time to get into the spirit of the season, and obviously nothing gets you into the Halloween mood better than horror. Unfortunately when it comes to most live-action horror films, there’s only so much that can be done and shown, but thankfully of all things, Anime can cross the line with story, gore, and intriguing storytelling. So for every day this month, I’ll be featuring a unique Anime that fits the horror genre that you can most likely find on any streaming service. Let’s chase a killer in Monster. Monster may not 100% be considered a horror, but the dark psychological spider web it weaves says otherwise. The story follows a Japanese brain surgeon living in Germany and after performing lifesaving surgery on a little boy, a strange string of murders occur in with the surgeon was a suspect, years later the killings happen again and the doctor, though again being accused, discovered the

DVD Review: Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! (2020)

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this blog post. The opinions I share are my own. Scooby (Frank Welker) and the gang, Fred (also voiced by Welker), Daphne (Grey Griffin), Velma (Kate Micucci), and Shaggy (Matthew Lillard) are up to their arcane armpits in preternatural peril when ye olde friendly neighborhood pumpkin patch is covered in toxic waste (accompanied by a cue that definitely brings to mind 1985’s Return of the Living Dead) which results in the pumpkins coming to life and they have the horror biz foremost on their monstrous minds! Seems like a solid Scooby-Doo scenario… how about if I told you that Elvira (the legendary Cassandra Peterson herself, ‘natch) shows up, as does Bill Nye the Science Guy (himself, though amped-up to 11)… and the Scarecrow (The A-Team‘s world famous Howlin’ Mad Murdock, Dwight Shultz)… like from Batman… yeah, what the what now?!! With it’s faster pace

Blu-ray Review: Possession (2009)

Newlyweds Jessica (Buffy herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Ryan (Michael Landes) are diggin’ on being hitched, but there’s a snag… they share their home with Ryan’s psychopathic, ex-con brother Roman (Guardian of the Galaxy‘s Lee Pace), which is a stressful sitch in-fuckin’-deed… Long story short; Roman ends up hitting his brother with a car, and the two sibs end up balls deep in Comaland; population: them. Anyhow, Roman wakes up, Ryan does not… but here’s the fun part; Roman now claims he is Ryan. Now our heroine isn’t exactly ready to swallow that plate of what appears to be gourmet bullshit… but, Roman knows shit only Ryan could, ya dig? This eventually leads her to believe that whopper may indeed be the truth… but is it… is it? Well, Possession looks slicker than shit through a duck’s ass, that’s for sure. Directors Simon Sandquist and Joe Bergvall have a keen eye… four in fact, and they know how to get
