‘Haunting Of Hill House’ Creator Adapting “The Midnight Club” For Netflix

The team behind Netflix’s hit series “The Haunting of Hill House” is now set to adapt the Christopher Pike novel “The Midnight Club” for the streaming giant, according to Variety. Originally published back in 1994, the story is set at Rotterdam Home, a hospice for terminally ill teens. A group of patients begins to gather at midnights to share scary stories. Eventually, they make a pact that whichever kid dies first they will contact the others from beyond the grave. Mike Flanagan, who brought us “Haunting of Hill House” and will deliver its sequel “The Haunting of Bly Manor” later this year, also serves as the creator for the adaptation along with Leah Fong. Flanagan will executive produce under the Intrepid Pictures banner along with Trevor Macy. Fong will also executive produce. Amazon Adapting Meg Gardiner’s ‘The Dark Corners Of The Night’

Ahead of being published on February 18th, Meg Gardiner‘s novel The Dark Corners of the Night, the third book in a series, has already been picked up for a series adaptation with Amazon Studios acquiring the rights earlier this week, according to Deadline. “The first book, UNSUB, follows a female detective on the trail of an infamous serial killer – inspired by the still-unsolved Zodiac case – who breaks his silence and begins killing again. The detective grew up watching her father destroy himself and his family as he chased the killer, and now finds herself confronting the same monster her father failed to catch.” “In the third book, The Dark Corners of The Night, the heroine has risen through the ranks to become a Behavioral Analysts for the FBI and is on the hunt for a serial killer who targets families, killing the parents and leaving the children alive to witness the unspeakable horror.” Larry Trilling (“Goliath”) will serve

New ‘Fear Street’ Novel Gets Cover Art

The ‘Goosebumps’ book franchise was my introduction to horror as a very small child and as I grew a bit, I got really into R. L. Stine’s ‘Fear Street’ collection. In 2014, after a 15 year hiatus, ‘Fear Street’ returned! Now, Stine’s newest novel gets its cover art released. In ‘The Wrong Girl” “Poppy Miller swears she will get payback for Jack Sabers’s cruel prank that humiliated her in front of all her friends. Then her classmates start turning up dead. All eyes are on Poppy. Is Poppy being framed? Or did the kids of Shadyside High mess with the wrong girl?” You know what you’re going to get from the remarkable author and the cover art looks great! I’m definitely going to pick up a copy for both entertainment and nostalgia.

Movie Review Kepler’s Dream is Not Nightmare Fuel, But It’s Charming

Hey, ol’ Danny XIII can be as sensitive as the next creep or ghoul, at least that’s what I tell myself when I try and figure out why I would be sent a sentimental family flick (with a dash of the ‘whodunit’ sprinkled on top) to feast my putrid peepers upon. Regardless, sent the film I was, so revoltin’ review I’ll do! Eleven year old Ella is sent to live with her grandmother (whom she has never met) on a ranch in New Mexico after her mother gets cancer (and her Father is too busy working to properly care for her). While at the ranch she befriends ranch hand Miguel and his daughter Rosie…she also gets to help solve the mystery of who pinched a book from her bibliophile Nana’s collection of moldie-oldie tomes (in this case a book that holds sentimental value due to it’s connection to Elle’s dead grandfather). As the search continues on, the body count rises
