After a work place accident in which he just stood idly by as a man went up in flames, delusional psycho/flame enthusiast Donny Kohler (The Soprano‘s Dan Grimaldi) returns home to find his beloved (not to mention horribly abusive) mother dead. It’s at this point the voices in his head take over and tell him he can both enjoy loud disco music (hey, I said he was a psycho) and should really consider making a flame proof room where he can burn women alive… as one does. Charlie Gunther (Nick Panouzis) is back from ‘Nam with a head full of bad wiring and PTSD flashbacks for days… he also considers himself a real lady-killer… literally. As the female body count rises, Chuck gains notice from both the police and the local conglomerate of right wing businessmen that run a hidden cabal dedicated to eliminating rapists and murderers from the streets permanently utilizing ex-vets as their instruments of vigilante justice. That lil’ secret sect begins sweating bullets when Charlie goes rogue, which leads to the Colonel Kurtz surrogate Eric Stern (played to the hilt by the awesomely named Barron Winchester)… an ex-army muckety-muck who provides the vets for the aforementioned dirty work… going completely ballistic to maintain order among the chaos of his crumbling micro-empire. While cruising around on YouTube to find some B-movies to watch for a future article, I stumbled, more like tripped over, a film I can’t believe I never heard of and after watching it I watched it again, The Silence of the Hams. The Silence of the Hams is a satirical film released in 1994 that spoofs The Silence of the Lambs and Psycho. The film is directed, written, and stars Italian comedian Ezio Greggio. At one point or another, we all have seen “Based on a true story” or “Inspired by” on movie posters, book covers, and even in video games. As a result, we’re all guilty of it, we the audience immediately want to see, read, and play it because we want to experience the story, especially if its horror related! What happens afterward is a moment of either instant regret, confusion, or in some cases satisfaction without realizing we have a fishhook sticking out of our cheeks. This October fans will be able to add famed suspense director, Alfred Hitchcock to their Funko POP! collection. The figure is colored in grayscale (classic black and white) with his iconic double chin holding a film clapper with the title “Psycho”, this film from 1960 is one of Hitchcock’s most memorable films about a woman who stole money from her employer and while on the run, encounters a serial killer. Norman Goes Psycho In The New Season 5 Trailer For Bates Motel

‘Bates Motel’ returns this February for its fifth and final season. The first teaser has arrived and it’s creepy. Norman has officially begun his transformation into Norma. Many of the cast from last season will be returning, including Freddie Highmore, Vera Farmiga, Olivia Cooke, Max Theriot, and Nester Carbonell. Several new characters will also be arriving such as musician/actress Rihanna who will be playing the iconic role of Marion Crane, right out of Alfred Hitchcock’s original 1960 film that the series is based on. Norman Bates Is Coming Home… Summer, 1983. No Internet. No DVD extras. No “sneak peaks.” There were a handful of magazines to get your entertainment and especially your horror news and Fangoria was mine. I got my first subscription in 1980 and kept it through most of high school. At one point my mother asked me, “Are you sure you don’t want Playboy or something?” Unlike Norman Bates, I had plenty of girlfriends. Boobs I could see any time, but horror? That was serious shit and it came in the mail addressed to me. The slasher film dominated 80s horror.
