Indiegogo Campaign Begins For Short Horror Film ‘The Elsewhere’

333 Productions has kicked off their campaign for the short horror film The Elsewhere. The Elsewhere tells the story of Emma (Shanda Renee), a struggling writer who begins her day by receiving incredible news about her latest story. Upon hearing the incredible news, her sister Sharon throws an impromptu celebration party for her later that night. Soon after arriving, Emma runs into an ex-boyfriend, Brad, who shows up uninvited and reminding her why they are no longer dating. At the height of the party, Emma is approached by a suave film executive, Steven, who appears to have ulterior motives for attending, but before his true intentions are known, their conversation is interrupted by a mysterious young woman named Jasmine. The party lasts well into the night with Emma being the center of attention for each of these individuals. The next morning finds Emma alone in her bedroom unable to speak or hear. Short Film Review: Red Light (2020)

Ricky (Alex Sands) is one of those obnoxious social media influencer types that are always up to one dumb-fuck prank or another, and his friends let him know how much of a royal pain in the ass his constant filming and sharing is while on the way to a Halloween party. Before our heroes can get to the soiree, they find themselves in dire straits when their pal cum chauffeur Jake (Layne Herrin) explodes in the ol’ road rage at the eponymous red light, and gets into hot water with psycho siblings Stephen (Brian Krause) and Ian (the legendary Ted Raimi). After one provides a jump scare she receives a game recommendation, the Black Orchid Challenge, one that gets a little too real. Capitalizing on the trend of challenges and videos that involve jump scares when you are least expecting it, Black Orchid Challenge is a well-done short flick that we could see as a full-length feature adaptation. Mr. HoleHead’s Warped Dimension Short Film Review: The Song of Her (2019)

In a dystopian, or is that draconian… hell let’s just say it’s both… anyway, in a dystopian/draconian era, Flora (Yelena Ferrer) spends her time playing organ in a titanic, seemingly abandoned church… well that, and hooking Chi (Sui Nakashima) up to a scanner cum torture device called Goda, and grilling her for info, as well as playing armchair therapist to her victim. Naturally the two fall in love, much to the chagrin of Flora’s superior, General Stewart Bailey (Ravin Patterson) who maims Flora with the ol’ cigarette to the putrid peeper bag! Anyway, things come to a head, and soon the two find themselves at the mercy of Satanic mother fucker Lord Goody (Bruce Hermann), but is all hope really lost? The Song of Her is one delicious slice of sinister short film (this picture runs about 21 minutes) perfection! Coming off as a bit like a “What if Bram Stoker wrote 1984?” affair, this flick is a deft blend

Short Film Review: #NotAllGhosts (2020)

A woman (Amy Ciupek) debates how to eject the toxic dude in her life which isn’t going to be easy considering he’s a rather nasty tempered, abusive, ghost! Filmed with the new Optical Radiance technology that makes film color look vintage without any post-production color correction (read more about the process right here), #NotAllGhosts looks like a million beastly bucks for sure, with bright, eye-popping color… but that isn’t all the visual splendor this bite-sized trip into our beloved horror biz has to offer! You know that ghoulish guest I mentioned up yonder? Well the visual representation of said spirit is a psychotronic fever dream involving, but not limited to, bubbles, possessed televisions, skeletons, smoke, and haunted photographs that reveal private details of how our heroine spends her down time. Short Film Review: Guest (2020)

The long and the short of the new bite-sized fright flick from writer/director Finn Callan goes as follows: Mary (Melania Crisan), who just shows up at the home of a woman (Jessica Munna) suffering from self inflicted injuries, is balls deep in trouble town when she tries to kick a real pain in the arcane ass out of her life; namely a disturbing creature (Anna Fraser) that plagues her on the regular. Seems like a simple enough conceit, eh boils n’ ghouls? Well it is, and the way Callan (and his crew including cinematographer Fyodor Houtheusen, and editor Trifa Keedo) tell it is masterful indeed. The visuals are presented in a near monotone palette of cool blues that offers a cold tone that matches the relationship between our heroine and her guest… well at first anyway. Things get a bit more heated… and terrifying, once we see the guest for who she really is, and let me tell ya cats

Short Film Review: Lili (2019)

Lili (Lisa Smit) sits in a pitch black room ready for an audition for a juicy role. As she tries out different approaches to the material, the man holding the audition (Derek de Lint) reveals he has some sinister ulterior motives… but, Lili may have more than expected to give the role! Now make no mistake, at it’s core this nine-minute short film is a horror biz piece, but it touches on some real life terror as well, as Lili’s personal space is invaded and her comfort shattered when things move from exploring acting to full on grabby asshole territory with disturbing ease (and illustrated perfectly thanks to the strong acting displayed by Smit and de Lint). As for the visuals, writer/director Yfke Van Berckelaer keeps it simple as putrid pie with a black background being the only setting… and for like 99% of the film, Smit’s expressive face fills most of the screen.
