Shudder’s New Series ‘Cursed Films’ Explores Real Hollywood Horror Stories (Trailer)

Over the years there have been rumors of cursed films, such as The Exorcist and the original Poltergeist. A new five-part documentary series titled “Cursed Films” is headed to Shudder. “Cursed Films” explores the myths and legends behind some of Hollywood’s notoriously “cursed” horror film productions. From plane accidents and bombings during the making of The Omen to the rumored use of real human skeletons on the set of Poltergeist, these stories are legendary amongst film fans and filmmakers alike. But where does the truth lie? Cursed Films reveals the events that haunted these productions through interviews with experts, witnesses and the cast, directors, and producers who lived through real-life events. Were these films really cursed, as many believe, or just the victims of bad luck and bizarre circumstances? The series is written, directed, and edited by Jay Cheel. Cheel also serves as executive producer alongside Andrew Nicholas McCann Smith, Laura Perlmutter, and Brian Robertson. The series will make its

Blu-ray Review: Mon Mon Mon Monsters

Writer-director Giddens Ko’s Mon Mon Monsters is set to be released this February and I’m here to give you my thoughts on it. Eugenie Liu (“Behind Your Smile”), Pei-Hsin Lin, Carolyn Chen (Attention, Love!), Yu-Kai Deng (Tree in the River), and Kent Tsai (All Because of Love) star. The movie follows a group of teens who catch a man-eating monster and experiment on it. As soon as they figure out that it carries a contagion, they use it as a weapon on anyone the crosses them. These teens are a nightmare. They’re abusive, psychotic, and just plain sadistic assholes throughout the entire movie. There is zero chance that you can find sympathy for them in any way. The “man-eating monsters” in this flick turn out to be the real victims and the humans turn out to be the real monsters. I think we are meant to find pity for one of the boys that have been bullied by the friends
