There are so many people that work behind-the-scenes to get a movie made and we rarely hear their side. During my interview with writer-director Marti King Young, she told me about the other jobs in Hollywood including on The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It and Annabelle Comes Home, as well as her recent projects and what her goals are as a filmmaker. Horror Fuel: “I love finding out how movies are made and all of the fascinating jobs that go into it. What did your position as Location Coordinator for The Conjuring 3 involve? “Marti”: “That’s the first time I had ever worked in that regard, and I never got to go to set which really bugs me. I stayed in the office. Basically, I was the coordinator, I was in charge of all the paperwork. I made sure all of the locations got paid. We had things like water meters that we had to go pick

After a long wait, we finally know both the official title and plot details for The Conjuring 3, titled The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. The official synopsis reads: “A chilling story of terror, murder, and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they’d ever seen before, to mark the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense.” It appears we were right. The story is based on the true story of Arne Cheyenne Johnson. His case was the first time demonic possession was used as a legal defense. The defense did not completely work however, on November 24, 1981, in Brookfield, Connecticut, Johnson was convicted of first-degree manslaughter for murdering his landlord. Before he was arrested, his

The Conjuring universe is quickly becoming one of the largest the horror franchises we’ve ever seen and there’s no sign of it slowing. The original James Wan-directed film gave way to one sequel already, plus the Annabelle trilogy, The Nun, The Curse of La Llorona, and now, The Conjuring 3. In The Conjuring 3, Ed and Lorraine Warren will return for a new scare. Patrick Wilson, who stars as Ed, shed some light on the sequel recently during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. The process [of making Conjuring 3] was fantastic, and it’s a much different feel,” Wilson stated. “It’s still the same bones; it’s still very much Ed and Lorraine. Again, we are pushing our characters to places they haven’t gone, but the film will be a really nice addition because it’s definitely a different beast. Pun intended.” The Conjuring 3 began production this past June in Atlanta with Michael Chaves (The Curse of La Llorona) in the

One of the biggest horror film franchises of the decade will soon begin filming its third film. I’m of course talking about The Conjuring franchise which became an entire universe. James Wan won’t be directing The Conjuring 3. Instead, we are left in the capable hands of Michael Chaves who is about to deliver his haunting tale The Curse of La Llorona to theaters this April. Hand-picked by Wan to direct, Chaves’s Conjuring 3 is said to be connected to the case of Bill Ramsey also known as The Southend Werewolf, which is based on a true story. Ramsey, a husband, and father of three from Essex, England, suddenly began to believe he was possessed by a demon that manifested as a wolf or a werewolf. Ramsey was said to have developed an inhuman strength, he growled, bared his teeth, and that he walked with hunched shoulders. While it hasn’t been confirmed, Wan did mention the possibility of a werewolf

Next year Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga return as Ed and Lorraine Warren in The Conjuring 3, which has been said to be very different from its predecessors. During a conversation with Bloody-Disgusting, producer James Wan gave details of the film’s plot and reinforced that the film is based on a true story. It’s not necessarily based on an artifact but it’s based on one of the Warrens’ case files,” Wan said. All the Conjuring films are based on the case files, so they’re more based on the true story aspect of the real life Warrens. I think that’s important. It’s important that the mothership stays true to the inspiration of the real people. The spinoffs are where we get to have more fun and do weird and wonderful crazy things. The mothership of it being the Conjuring films, we want it to come back to the real stuff.” It’s this guy who was on trial for committing a murder,”
