Universal Has Found Their Star For The Remake of Frankenstein

Last year Universal tapped Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan to begin work on its new shared universe and the remakes of all of its classic horror films. Universal’s The Mummy reboot, starring Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe, will soon wrap filming. And their next reboot, Frankenstein, is now in the early phases of casting. There have been many remakes and reboots of Frankenstein over the years, but the original has never been topped, in my opinion. Let’s hope the new film will do it justice. Variety is reporting that Javier Bardem is now in negotiations to star as Dr, Frankenstein’s monster, a role originally played by Boris Karloff in 1931. Bardem was also offered the role of Dr. Jekyll in the new The Mummy reboot, but passed. There is no word yet if Bardem will also appear in the Bride of Frankenstein, whose star has been named as Angelina Jolie. Bardem is a gifted actor who has starred in many

‘The Mummy’ Is Coming Back To Life In A New Universal Adaption

We reported last year that Universal will be remaking all of their classic monster movies. Plans are already in place for a ‘Creature from the Black Lagoon‘ remake, but also an adaption of ‘The Mummy’. ‘The Mummy’ is set to be released on March 23, 2017 and will be direct by Alex Kurtzman, with the screen play written by Jon Spaihts, who worked on the movie ‘Prometheus’. The original ‘The Mummy’ movie was released in 1932 in black and white and starred Boris Karloff. In 1999 another version of ‘The Mummy’ was released, directed by Stephen Sommers and starring Brandon Frazier, which ended in a four movie franchise. In both the original and 1999 movie the Mummy stalks a beautiful woman, who he thinks is the reincarnation of his lost love. There is no word yet if the new version will follow the same story. Universal has made the statement that the new movie will be both action packed and
