Movie Review: The Dark Place (2014)

Keegan Dark (Blaise Godbe Lipman) and his boyfriend Wil (Timo Descamps), are two dudes just livin’ their lives gifted with X-Men (eidetic memory and a knack for fixing that which should not be able to be fixed respectively). Our heroes make a trek to repair K-dawgs relationship with momma-dukes Celeste (Shannon Day); but the woman has moved on and started a new family… family which includes her new beau’s son Adrian (Andy Copeland) who is balls deep into the notion he can replace Keegan in Celeste’s life. Things go over like a fart in a submarine, and soon Wil is M.I.A., Celeste is in a coma… and Keegan is immediately blamed as the cause by the local authorities, but our hero suspects Adrian is the cause of all that static. In order to solve the mystery at hand, Keegan will have to own up to some deep, dark family secrets while using his mental prowess to piece together the clues!

Netflix Unveils Trailer For ‘Earthquake Bird’ From Producer Ridley Scott

Netflix has been killing it lately with many great genre films being released. One of the upcoming films you should be looking out for is the Ridley Scott produced psychological thriller Earthquake Bird. It has a new trailer and we’ve got it here for you to see. Set in 1989 Tokyo, Earthquake Bird stars Alicia Vikander (Tomb Raider) as Lucy Fly, a woman with a dark past, who forms an intense relationship with a handsome but troubled local photographer named Teiji (Naoki Kobayashi). Lucy’s tough exterior begins to crack when newcomer, Lily Bridges (Riley Keough), becomes entangled in their lives and ends up missing. Kiki Sukezane, Yoshiko Sakuma, Ken Yamamura, Kazuhiro Muroyama, Crystal Kay, Akiko Iwase and Jack Huston also star in the film based on the acclaimed novel by Susanna Jones. The unnerving thriller from director Wash Westmoreland (Colette) will open in select theaters on November 1st followed by its Netflix premiere on November 15, 2019.

Movie Review: Seeds (2018)

Marcus Milton (Trevor Long) is a rich ass mother fucker that ends up killing a woman dressed as a moth during consensual, though substance enhanced, sex (doubtless more common than one would think among the jet-set). Anyway, after hiring someone to clean up that lil’ indiscretion, Double M hauls ass to family’s New England coastal estate currently occupied by his his brother Michael (Chris McGarry) and his kids, the teenage Lily (Andrea Chen) and her younger bro Spencer (Garr Long). Speaking of Mikey, that dude soon splits the scene to try and win back his wife, so it’s up to ol’ Uncle Marcus to watch the “children”, which of course is a pretty shitty plan, because Marc-dawg is no Uncle Buck; flippin’ giant pancakes and shit, rather it becomes obvious he has the horny’s for his niece… not that she seems to mind. Movie Review: Hellmington (2018)

Detective Samantha Woodhouse (Nicola Correia-Drakulic) goes a-sleuthing after her father spits out the name of a girl who has been missing for nigh-on nine years upon his death bed… a girl who went missing after some sort of prom thing or another. Complicating matters are the strange cult that inhabits Sammy’s hometown… not to mention the fact our heroine may have a connection to the disappearance! Will Samantha be able to crack the case and remain confident of who she is? Filmmakers Jay Drakulic and Alex Lee Williams deliver one hell of a stylish thriller with Hellmington… but the film has much more going for it than aesthetics and groovy camera-work. The suspense remains tight throughout (with plenty of well-constructed ramp-ups), the mystery is engaging, and the performances, especially that provided by Correia-Drakulic as Samantha are on-point… especially as the emotional turmoil of her investigation takes it’s toll on her character’s psyche. Movie Review: Eternal Code (2019)

It’s Ponce de Leon 2099 as a genetic research company type-o-deal has ciphered a way of prolonging human life… if you got the dough that is, dig? Naturally said company is as crooked as a dog’s hind leg, and the way they go about their research is what the scientific community labels “fuckin’ wrong as balls”. Fortunately, the company’s CEO Bridget Pellegrini (Erika Hoveland) is kinda “hell naw” on the whole affair, and she wants that shit to cease, pee-ronto. Well, her board of directors reacts to that like one would a fart in a submarine, and tries to get her to cool ‘er jets, as does the the man with the slick-as-shit name, Dr. Magnus (Yan Birch)… hell, even her hubs Mark (Billy Wirth) puts the guilt trip upon our harried heroine. Long story short; Bridget gets locked away by the company (as part of their Executive Kidnap Community Outreach Program) while Magnus and his assistant Nikita (Vida Ghaffari)

Daphne (Ariana DeBose) has it tough as she works a right shit job and has to care for her hard-luck momma (Sharon Washington). But all isn’t dumpster fires and frowns for our heroine, as she is having a secret fling with Roger (Matt Shingledecker), a dude in kind of a similar sitch as he is charged with caring for his old (literally) man… until Pops buys the farm that is. We soon learn Rog has inherited a seaside beach house, and he drags ol’ Daphne out there where she meets Susanna (Steffanie Leigh); one of Roger’s exes. Now let me just say the film opens with a crime scene and we have to piece together who is the victim in that scenario… so put your weird-ass Sherlock Holmes hat on and try to cram those puzzle pieces together into some sort of clear picture!
