During The Talking Dead, after tonight’s episode 13 (The Same Boat ) of The Walking Dead it was announce that Universal Studios Hollywood is opening a new permanent immersive attraction that will allow Walking Dead fans to experience the zombie apocalypse first hand.
A version of the popular Halloween maze featured during Universal’s Horror Nights will be available year-round. The enhanced amped-up version of the maze will be loaded with new features.
From the Press Release:
“The Walking Dead attraction is significantly more intense than it’s Halloween iteration: the stomach-churning walk-through experience will boast authentic walker make-up effects, sophisticated animatronics, walkers, substantially more detailed set design and costuming, and highly recognizable props replicated from the series.”
The series’ producer, director and effects wizard Greg Nicoterio has partnered with Universal to bring the attraction’s walkers to life. The maze will be housed in a new custom-built structure just inside the park’s main gate.
