Deadline reports that Condon is currently in talks with Universal Studios to direct the remake of the 1935 black and white film. While nothing has been finalized, it is being said that both sides of the table are very excited about the project.
Condon is no stranger to the horror genre, he directed Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh, the Twilight Saga part 1 and 2, and Gods and Monsters.
Alex Kurtzan and Chris Morgan are spearheading Universal’s new monster universe. They will also be serving as executive producers for the new version of Bride of Frankenstein, written by David Koepp (Jurassic Park).  Kurtzman recently directed the new version of The Mummy which will be part of the new shared universe that will include The Invisible Man, The Wolf Man, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Dracula, and others.
Originally, Universal was targeting Angelina Jolie to play the role of the Bride, but there has been no word if that is still the case.
The 1935 original, directed by James Whale, starred Boris Karloff, Elsa Lanchester, and Colin Clive.
