The sequel to 2014’s supernatural thriller ‘Ouija’ has found it’s director. Flanagan is not only directing the sequel, but is also co-writing the movie’s script along with Jeff Howard. Flanagan and Howard have teamed up before, with 2014’s ‘Oculus’.
Annalise Basso has signed as the star of ‘Ouija 2’. Basso will play the role of a young girl grieving the loss of her father. Basso is no stranger the Flanagan and Howard, she appeared in ‘Oculus’ as well.
The sequel will once again revolve around a Ouija Board. Unlike in the first movie, this board is has been described as “ancient”.
Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will producing for Blumhouse Productions. Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis will produce under Hasbro and Trevor Macy will produce under the Intrepid Pictures’ banner. Sara Scott will oversee the movie for Universal.
In the first ‘Ouija’ a group of friends come together to try to communicate with their friend who has recently committed suicide. Soon after using the board bad things begin to happen to the friends. One girl and her sister must find the answer and put an end to the spirit haunting them before they die too. ‘Ouija’ starred Olivia Cooke, Ana Coto, Daren Kagasoff, Bianca A. Santos, Douglas Smith, Shelly Hennig, and Lin Shaye.
‘Ouija 2’ will open in theaters on October 21, 2016.
