I had the opportunity to ask actor-musician Chase Coleman a few quick questions, and of course I couldn’t pass that up. Some of you will recognize him from his reoccurring role as the renegade werewolf, Oliver, from the popular series ‘The Originals’. Chase also played the role of Billy on the show ‘Boardwalk Empire’, but then again Chase has had many roles. You should know, his world is not only about acting, he’s a musician as well and often holds concerts at the conventions he attends.

KM “What was your favorite part of being involved with ‘The Originals’?”

CC “Every day getting to work with amazingly talented and passionate people on set. I loved getting to affect the viewers and create the magic we see on our TV’s. 🙂 ”

KM “Can you tell us about your role as Billy on the series ‘Boardwalk Empire?”

CC “He was a young college kid who needed money bad to take care of his mother and sister. He got involved with the wrong crowd and pulled a couple of jobs that weren’t so smart. He was then being black mailed to testify against the mafia, and we all know how that goes…”

KM “You have a new project, a role in the upcoming series ‘Gypsi’, please tell us a little about the show and your character?”

CC “I’m excited about this show and we will start filming the pilot episode soon. ‘Gypsi’ is set in the secluded and mystical town of Lisette, Louisiana. It is hidden away in the Louisiana bayous and for good reason, it’s a dark community enriched with voodoo priests, witches, and shape-shifters, Dracula (vampires) and fallen Angels. All who talk freely about it in this forgotten mystical place.

My character “Declan Desmond’ is the head of the Shifter family in Lisette. He is the leader of the Rougarou. It is believed that he had died years earlier protecting his loved ones and the town from the Dark Goddess who is hell bent on destroying Lisette and all who dwell there. But all isn’t as it appears.

CC”The Rougarou is actually an old Louisiana Folklore told to Cajun children to scare them into behaving. There is a write up about my character and the story of the Rougarou on my official website that you can check out.”

KM “What other projects are you working on?”

CC “I’m really not at liberty to discuss upcoming projects until they are officially announced but please be sure to follow me on FacebookTwitterInstagram and Tumblr.

KM “I hear you’re quite the musician. What instrument do you play and what type of music do you enjoy the most?”

CC “I play the guitar and rock music especially ’80’s Rock is my favorite music to listen to. Maynard from Tool is my greatest musical inspiration.”

KM “I have to ask, what’s it like to have so many female fans? Let’s face it, you look, well, how you look.”

CC “Life’s tough. It’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it. #TheStruggleIsReal 😉 ”
