Oscar nominee Jackie Earle Haley will be starring in the new adaption of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower, which has begun principle photography, Deadline reports. He will co-star along side Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey and Abbey Lee. Haley will be playing the role of Sayre, a menacing vampire.


The Dark Tower will be directed by Nikolej Arcel, who also co-wrote the film. Ron Howard, Akiva Goldman, Brian Grazer and Erica Huggins are producing. The long awaited film will premiere in theaters on January 13th, 2017.

Haley is also co-starring in the television adaption of Garth Ennis’ graphic novel Preacher. Haley stars as Odin Quincannon, a nasty character with a habit of molesting meat.
