Back in December the first teaser trailer emerged for David Lynch’s upcoming Twin Peaks revival, but the cast list has been kept relatively hush-hush, till now. Today, Showtime dropped the full cast list and it’s huge. In all, the massive cast includes 217 new and returning actors and actresses. This list boasts names such as Josh McDermitt, Ernie Hudson, Ashley Judd, Naomi Watts, Tom Sizemore, Laura Dern, Jennifer Jason Leigh, musicians Eddie Vedder and Trent Reznor, and David Duchovny reprising his role as Agent Dennis. Many others will also be returning to their characters from the series that ran from 1990 to 1991. If you have a few minutes, check out the cast list (below).
In the original series Agent Dale Cooper arrived in Twin Peaks to investigate the murder of Laura Palmer, the local homecoming queen. Cooper soon realized that the mystery went much deeper than just Laura Palmer’s murder and that there was another force at play. The revival will pick up 25 years later.
Twin Peaks will premiere on Showtime some time in 2017. The exact date should be announced soon.
