News came a few days ago that Tony Todd has confirmed that Final Destination 6 is finally entering production. And I thought it would be a good time to take a stroll down memory lane and take a look back that the films that make up the death filled franchise.
2000
The franchise began in 2000 with the first movie, directed by James Wan. Devon Sawa, Ali Larter, Sean Williams Scott, Amanda Detmer, and Tony Todd star in this fan favorite.
After a teenager has a terrifying vision of him and his friends dying in a plane crash, he prevents their deaths by exiting the plane. Moments later the plane departs and blows up mid-air, only to have Death hunt them down, one-by-one.
2003
Final Destination 2, directed by David R. Ellis, stars Tony Todd, Ali Larter, A.J. Cook, Michael Landes, David Paetkau, James Kirk, Keegan Connor Tracy, Jonathan Cherry, Terrance Carson, Justina Machado and Alejandro Rae. The movie forever changed the way horror fans looked at log trucks.
When Kimberly (Cook) has a violent premonition of a highway pile-up she blocks the freeway, keeping a few other people safe who were meant to die. The survivors mysteriously begin dying in freak accidents. It’s up to Kimberly to stop it, or she’s next.
2006
In the third installment of the franchise, a student’s premonition of a deadly roller-coaster accident saves her life and several other lucky people from the disaster, but not from Death’s ultimate design.
Part 3 stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ryan Merriman, Kris Lemche, Alexyz Johnson, Seam Easton, Jesse Moss, Gina Holden, Texas BattleChelan Simmons, Crystal Lowe and Amanda Crew, and was directed by James Wong.
2009
Directed by David R. Ellis, part 4 stars Bobby Campo, Shantel VanSanten, Nick Zano, Haley Webb, Mykelti Williamson, and Krista Allen.
After a young man has a vision of a deadly race-car crash he helps save the lives of his friends and a few other people, but Death will claim those who are on its list.
2011
In Final Destination 5, survivors of a suspension-bridge collapse learn the hard way that there’s no way to escape Death’s plan.
Nicholas D’Agosto, Emma Bell, Miles Fisher, Ellen Wroe, Jaqueline MacInnes Wood, P.J. Byrne, Arlen Escarpeta, David Koechner and Tony Todd star in the part 5, directed by Steven Quale.
This movie is the reason why I will never try acupuncture.
2017
Final Destination 6 will begin fillming in late 2016 or early 2017. Tony Todd will be returning as Bludwoth, the mortician who knows all and see all. The director and other cast members have not been announced at this point.
A lot of what draws horror fans to the Final Destination franchise are the brutal, gory death scenes and we happen to have every single one of the character’s bloody deaths right here for you, enjoy.
