New horror series are showing up on every network right now and we’re thankful for that. Hulu is adding the new horror series Freakish, from AwesomenessTV, to their exclusive library. The 10-episode first season has already entered production and will premiere later this year.
Freakish follows a group of high school students fighting to survive the people of their town who have been turned into bloodthirsty mutant freaks after a the local chemical plant has a meltdown.
Sniper actor Chad Michael Collins has joined the series. According to The Wrap, Collins will play the role of a mysterious character that crosses paths with the students who are fighting to survive. The 30-something character is ex-military with an easy going attitude, who the kids see as a hero.
Collins will co-star alongside Leo Howard, Liza Koshy, Adam Hicks, Aislinn Paul, Tyler Chase, Meghan Rienks, Melvin Gregg, and Hayes Grier, Chachi Gonzales, Mary Mouser and The Walking Dead’s Chad L. Coleman.
Freakish was created and penned by Beth Szymkowski, who also serves as executive producer along with Brian Robbins, Shelley Zimmerman, Matt Lewis and Chris Grismer. Grismer (The Vampire Diaries, The Originals) will be directing the series.
