With summer approaching its end and thoughts beginning drift to cheerful seasons filled with snow, it’s time for winter themed horror films to begin to unveil their trailers and arrive.
One snow-filled horror film that has been on our radar is The Snowman, based on the award-winning book by the same name written by Jo Nesbø. The new international trailer has been released and it is intense.
The thriller, directed by Thomas Alfredson, centers on detective Harry Hole’s investigation into a missing woman, who has vanished leaving no trace except for her pink scarf which is draped around the neck of an ominous looking snowman. When he discovers similarities between this case and several cold case files, Harry determines that Norway has its first official serial killer. Now Harry and his team are on the hunt to discover the identity of the killer before this new case goes cold as well.
Michael Fassbender stars as Harry Hole. Rebecca Ferguson, Chloë Sevigny, Charlotte Gainsbourg, J. K. Simmons and Val Kilmer co-star.
The Snowman will be open on October 20th of 2017, from Universal Pictures.
