Robert Eggers, the brilliant mind behind The Witch, is teaming up with A24 once more, this time for The Lighthouse which Eggers both wrote the script and is directing.
This week editor Louise Ford (The Witch, Don’t Breathe) revealed a few details about The Lighthouse during a conversation with Mandy News, including the fact that it will be in black and white.
It’s set in 1890, and we’re shooting on 35mm black and white stock, virtually unheard of nowadays,” she said. “Most black and white movies are shot in colour, and then converted to black and white in post. The dailies look beautiful; it’s very exciting.”
The film is about an aging lighthouse keeper, named Old. It takes place in Nova Scotia in the early 20th century.”
Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson are set to star in the film.
Rodrigo Teixeira and Lourenço Sant’ Anna will produce under their banner Brazil-based RT Features, along with Jay Van Hoy and Youree Henley of Parts & Labor.
