Jordan Peele joined the list of our favorite kings of horror last year following his directorial debut, Get Out. We reported not long ago that his next genre feature is titled Us. He also has the HBO series “Lovecraft Country” in the works. Today it was confirmed by THR that his second series titled “The Hunt” is indeed on its way.
When David Weil first shared The Hunt with me, I immediately knew that we had to be involved,” said Peele. “It’s cathartic. It’s noir. It’s frighteningly relevant. It’s exactly what I want to see on television. I am thrilled to be working with Amazon in bringing this incredible vision to the world.” Peele said.
The 10 episode series, set in 1977, was “inspired by real-life events, it tells the story of a group of Nazi hunters in New York City in the 1970s. The Hunters discover that hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials are living among them and conspiring to create the Fourth Reich in the U.S. They set out on a bloody quest to bring the Nazis to justice and thwart their new genocidal plans.”
David Weil not only created and wrote the series, he will also write and executive produce it. Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions will produce alongside Sonar Entertainment. Jenna Santoianni (Mr. Mercedes) and Tom Lesinski (Taboo) will executive produce.
Amazon has already given a direct-to-series order for “The Hunt“.
