‘Child’s Play’ Reboot To Be Extremely Different From What We Know And Love

For a moment we were kind of excited about the upcoming Child’s Play reboot from MGM, that is until we learned just how different the movie will be from what we know and love about the franchise, Brad Dourif, the longtime voice of Chucky, won’t be involved. That’s right, Chucky will be getting a new voice. The changes don’t stop there, allegedly, Chucky will no longer be a serial killer possessed doll, instead, he will be an out of control A.I., according to Bloody Disgusting. Lars Klevberg (Polaroid) has been tapped to direct the reboot based on the script penned by Kung Fury writer Burton Smith. While horror fans are pretty open-minded, I don’t think they’re that open minded. I’ll be honest, the movie might be more successful if they were to rename the bot and break ties to the franchise altogether. Luckily, we will see Universal continue the original franchise. There is currently a “Child’s Play” series in pre-production

Movie Review: 3: An Eye For an Eye (2018)

3: An Eye For An Eye begins as a married couple abduct a man they feel is responsible for the wife’s rape years previous. The main of course professes his innocence, but this doesn’t stop them from tying him up and trying to torture a filmed confession out of him. This all seems fine and dandy (minus the legal and moral quandaries it brings up), but there is another small problem…they may have the wrong man…and the sexual assault may have never taken place. The most intriguing thing about 3: An Eye For An Eye is that it manages to do a whole lot, with a whole lotta nothing; one main location, three actors, a minimum of props and effects…you’d think that may not be enough to hold your interest for nearly an hour and a half, but thanks to incredibly strong performances, and an excellent narrative that keeps the audience guessing and the tension mounting this is one of

Six Must See Films Premiering At The Fantasia Film Festival (2018)

There are a lot of film festivals taking place this summer but one of our favorites is the Fantasia Film Festival (July 12th to August 1st). Every year the number of amazing films making their world premiere grows. While there are a lot of fantastic films this year, we’ve picked six genre films that we think you really need to see. The Man Who Killed Hitler and then the Bigfoot Directed and written by Robert D. Krzykowski, the film stars Sam Elliot as Calvin Barr, a legendary World War II veteran who many years ago assassinated Adolf Hitler – an incredible secret that he’s frustratingly unable to share with the world. ScreamWorks Announces ‘Dogged’ Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Following this week’s arrival of award-winning director Richard Rowntree‘s dark film Dogged, the film’s killer soundtrack release has just been announced. ScreamWorks Records once again teams up with The Drift composer James Griffiths to present his latest finely tuned chiller score on the Screamworks label. Directed by Richard Rowntree based on his 2015 short film, Dogged is a “horror that deals with the sins of the past and their effects on the present. When Sam returns home to the tidal island where he grew up to attend a funeral of a young girl, he soon realizes that the community he had once left has changed considerably. The big kid in me can’t wait to see Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween. The first trailer is here and it’s filled with monsters. Directed by Ari Sandel (The DUFF) from the script written by Rob Lieber, Goosebumps 2 stars Madison Iseman, Ben O’Brien, Caleel Harris, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ken Jeong, and Chris Parnell. In the film, two kids exploring the abandoned Stine house stumble across a book, “Haunted Halloween”, and unwittingly unleash monsters on their small town. North Bend Film Festival Announces Line-up

The North Bend Film Festival is right around the corner and the full line-up for their inaugural edition, including Cinema Vista and Something Strange feature and short film programs, has just been announced. In addition to the films, the weekend of August 23rd to the 26th will be rich with events that embrace the town of North Bend, once the original shooting location for David Lynch’s Twin Peaks, such as a special Twin Peaks Tour, a scenic mountainside hike (offering attendees a rare chance for excursion!), and ‘Damn Fine Coffee’ mixers to kick off the mornings just right. From writer-director Sebastian Gutierrez, who penned The Eye and Snakes on a Plane, comes Elizabeth Harvest, making its theatrical debut this August. Movie Review: Arte Factum: Legends (2018)

In a post-apocalyptic version of the wild west, folks covet a storytelling device (itself a primitive tattoo needle) and relate tales of a strange orb, the arte factum (think Heavy Metal‘s Loc-Nar) and it’s passage from owner to owner…you guessed it my fine fiends, we have an arcane anthology on our horrid hands (and I’ll be giving my two cents on each segment as we go)! Our wrap around takes place in a saloon in that nightmare world mentioned above, and it acts as a hub for each yarn spun…also the Four Horseman show up because…who the fuck cares; it’s cool! First up we get a tale of a warrior tattooing himself with the artifact as a creature comes to collect a the glowing orb he possesses. This was brief, but cool…I’d like to see this tale expanded.
