Short Film Review: (in here) I Am God (2018)

In a hidden bunker far below the Earth, a strange (and by strange this dude is an actual, full on monster) commandant (Nima Forghani) devises strategies for a great war. When not preoccupied with that, or snorting the ashes of cremated soldiers like cocaine, he focuses much of his unwanted attention on his secretary (Tiffany Astrid); a vamp that would give Vampira a run for her money. Looking for a way out of her predicament she enlists the aide of a soldier (Douglas Mckenney); who resides in a giant birdcage within the bunker when not doin’ the army biz, to help her with her demonic dilemma. Filled with gobs of silent film atmosphere, fever dream imagery, and a thing or two to say about war and women’s place in a tyrannical male society inspired in part by the film’s co-writer (along with Byron C. Miller who also edited the film)/actor/producer Nima Forghani’s experience growing up in 1980’s Iran; a country

Instagram Model Attacked By Shark? Not really.

WARNING: Some may find the following images disturbing. With “Shark Week” approaching, heads will be filled with images of vicious sharks that lie in wait in the oceans to just attack humans and people who are not experts or are educated will interject falsely as we now see in a Buzzfeed article about 19-year-old Instagram model Katarina Zarutskie who says she was “attacked” by a shark while trying to pose for a picture. Zarutskie was vacationing in the Bahamas with her boyfriend and family and took many opportunities to snap pictures of her enjoying the beach. Then the ultimate opportunity arrived when the vacationers came upon a school of Nurse Sharks whose “docile” behavior make them attractions for swimmers in the Bahamas who want to swim with sharks. Zarutskie floated motionless on her back as her boyfriend took the pictures but soon afterward, one nurse shark bites her and pulls her under the water. To Katarina’s credit, she remained calm

Bill Skarsgard Is Creepy As Hell In The New “Castle Rock” Trailer

The first trailer for Hulu’s new series “Castle Rock” is here and it’s creepy as hell, but that’s only fitting seeing it’s from Master of Horror Stephen King and J.J. Abrams recently told Jimmy Fallon. “And all of these characters from Stephen King’s books sort of are peripherally involved. We pitched it to Stephen King. He went nuts for it.” Scott Glenn stars as Alan Pangborn who appeared in both Needful Things and The Dark Half, and Sissy Spacek (Carrie) as Ruth Deaver, the adoptive mother of the series’ lead character Henry (Andre
